Check your installed version for a repeat option and test it before going live. CameraFi’s Replay feature is for replaying recent live footage, not for looping a prerecorded video. If your app cannot repeat the file, CameraFi’s Android beta RTMP-input feature may provide a workaround using a continuous feed from another device or app—but a seamless transition is not guaranteed.
Choose the right CameraFi feature
Video source: a prerecorded file
CameraFi’s Android beginner guide describes selecting video files from the Video source controls. That is the relevant starting point for broadcasting a prerecorded clip. The guide does not specify a universal repeat switch or say that playback restarts automatically when the file ends, so the exact controls may depend on your installed app version.
Replay: recent live footage
Replay is a different feature. CameraFi’s January 13, 2025 Android announcement describes a buffer adjustable from 3 to 30 seconds, with optional autoplay when the REPLAY button is pressed and transitions around the replay. When it finishes, it returns to the live screen; it is not a documented way to loop a selected file. As CameraFi puts it, “After the replay finishes, it will automatically end and switch back to the live screen.”
Try looping a video file on Android
- Open your broadcast and select the video source. In CameraFi Live, open the broadcast’s Video/source controls and choose the video file you want to send. CameraFi’s Android guide describes video files as available sources; menu labels may vary by version.
- Look for a repeat or loop control in your version. If one is available, enable it and confirm that it applies to the selected file. The reviewed official guide does not document a specific repeat setting, so do not assume a control exists or that playback will restart by itself.
- Connect CameraFi to YouTube if needed. CameraFi’s August 18, 2020 Custom RTMP tutorial describes retrieving the stream URL and key in YouTube Studio on a PC, then entering them in CameraFi Live’s Custom RTMP mode. YouTube’s interface may have changed since that tutorial; follow the current labels shown in your Studio account. This step connects the broadcast to YouTube—it does not make the video repeat.
- Rehearse privately or unlisted before the public broadcast. Check that the clip reaches its end, restarts as intended, and continues with the expected audio. Watch the transition closely for a pause, black frame, audio cut, or visible seam. A successful rehearsal is evidence about your particular setup, not a guarantee for later broadcasts.
If the file stops: consider external RTMP input
CameraFi announced an Android beta RTMP-input option on June 30, 2026. At a high level, add an RTMP source in CameraFi’s source switcher, then use the displayed address or QR information to send a continuous feed from another device or app on the network. CameraFi lists examples such as OBS, vMix, PTZ/IP cameras, drones, other phones, and hardware encoders.

This is a beta route to test, not confirmation that CameraFi’s own file source loops, and not a promise of gapless playback. It requires another source to send the feed. Verify that the beta is available to you and test the complete path—including the file restart and audio—before relying on it for a real broadcast.
Platform and rights checks
Do not assume iOS has the same file workflow
CameraFi’s iOS beginner guide describes a different source list, including the built-in phone camera and a USB external camera. The Android file-source description and Android beta RTMP-input announcement do not establish equivalent iOS features.

Use content you have the right to broadcast
CameraFi’s FAQ warns that broadcasting another person’s prerecorded content may create copyright risk. Use material you own or have permission to stream; platform copyright rules may also apply.
Troubleshoot a video that will not repeat cleanly
- The clip ends and stays stopped: Check whether your installed version exposes a repeat control for the selected source. The official Android guide does not document automatic restart. If no suitable control is available, test the external RTMP-input route where accessible.
- You see a pause, black frame, or abrupt audio change at the boundary: Rehearse the loop in the actual broadcast setup and inspect the transition. Neither the documented file-source workflow nor the beta RTMP announcement guarantees a gapless seam.
- Replay returns to the live screen: That is the behavior described for CameraFi Replay. Select the Video source for a prerecorded file instead; Replay is not a file-loop setting.
- You cannot find the RTMP input option: The announced feature is an Android beta. Check current availability in your installed app and CameraFi’s current guidance; do not assume it is present on every device or on iOS.
- YouTube does not receive the CameraFi broadcast: Recheck the current YouTube stream URL and key and the Custom RTMP fields in CameraFi. The cited CameraFi tutorial is from 2020, so its interface directions may not match current screens.
