You can use Larix Broadcaster to send a USB-C phone’s video and audio to YouTube Live over Ethernet, provided the phone recognizes the adapter. Connect and verify the wired link, enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key in Larix, then check the feed in YouTube Studio before your broadcast. Ethernet changes the phone’s network path; it does not guarantee a more stable stream.
Check whether your phone and adapter will work
Compatibility depends on the phone, operating system, adapter, and any hub or power arrangement. Apple documents USB-to-Ethernet adapter connections for USB-C iPhones, while cautioning that non-compliant accessories and cables may not work as expected (Apple Support). That guidance is not a guarantee for every third-party adapter, and it should not be generalized to Android phones.
Before buying or going live, check the adapter maker’s compatibility information for your exact handset and OS. If comparing adapters, verify phone/OS compatibility, Ethernet link speed and chipset support, power requirements, whether pass-through charging is needed, and the cable configuration. The available documentation does not establish a universally compatible adapter model or rank brands.
Connect the phone to Ethernet
- Connect the USB-C Ethernet adapter to the phone.
- Connect an Ethernet cable between the adapter and your wired network.
- Confirm that the phone recognizes the network connection and that the network has internet access.
If your arrangement requires a hub or pass-through power, check that exact combination separately; compatibility of that setup is not established by the cited guidance. A wired connection cannot fix an overloaded or poorly configured router, inadequate upload capacity, upstream congestion, or a YouTube ingest issue.

Get the YouTube server URL and stream key
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or select a stream.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the stream. YouTube’s encoder guidance says to enter these values in the encoder, start the encoder, and verify the incoming feed.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your YouTube stream.
If live streaming has never been enabled for your YouTube account, YouTube says initial activation may take up to 24 hours. Enable it well before a time-sensitive broadcast.
Configure Larix Broadcaster
- Install Larix Broadcaster from the Google Play listing or Apple App Store listing. YouTube lists Larix as a mobile encoder for iOS and Android.
- In Larix, add a connection and enter the YouTube server URL and stream key in the connection settings. Larix’s official documentation describes combining the server/application URL and stream name or key in the Connection URL field; follow the format shown for your YouTube stream.
- Select video-plus-audio mode if you want to send both picture and sound, and choose an appropriate bitrate for your available upload capacity. The cited setup guidance does not prescribe one bitrate for every phone, resolution, or network, so avoid treating a single value as universally suitable.
- Save the connection and check that the selected connection is the one Larix will use when you start streaming.
Current Larix app listings describe RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube Live, and adaptive-bitrate capabilities. Those features do not establish compatibility for a specific Ethernet adapter or guarantee a stable broadcast.

Run a preflight before the broadcast
- With the phone connected to Ethernet, start Larix using the YouTube connection.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and confirm that YouTube is receiving the feed.
- Check the picture, sound, orientation, and connection status. Confirm that the audio source is the one you intend to use.
- Resolve any issues and repeat the check before the event begins. Test the complete combination of phone, OS, adapter, network, and Larix—not just the adapter by itself.
Larix’s adaptive-bitrate support may help the app respond to network conditions, but its presence is not proof of a stable result on a particular connection. A wired link can still encounter limits elsewhere between the phone and YouTube.
Troubleshoot common setup failures
- The phone does not recognize Ethernet: Recheck the adapter’s stated compatibility with the exact phone and OS, reseat the cable and adapter, and verify the network connection. For USB-C iPhones, Apple’s guidance supports the adapter category but warns that non-compliant accessories or cables may not work as expected. Android support is device- and OS-dependent.
- Larix does not connect to YouTube: Check that the server URL and stream key were copied correctly and entered in the connection settings in the format described by Larix. Keep the key private; if you suspect it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update Larix.
- YouTube does not receive a feed: Confirm that Larix is streaming through the intended connection and that YouTube Live is enabled for the account. Initial enablement may take up to 24 hours. Check the Live Control Room for the incoming feed before starting the event.
- The stream drops or degrades despite Ethernet: Check the network’s upload capacity and router conditions, then consider congestion or an ingest problem. Ethernet alone cannot resolve these causes; Larix’s adaptive-bitrate capability is not a guarantee.
- There is no audio or the picture is wrong: Check Larix’s video-plus-audio mode and verify sound, orientation, and picture in the YouTube preview during preflight.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous YouTube stream made from uploaded recordings rather than a live phone camera feed, StreamNeo is a different workflow: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos and does not stream from a camera. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
