Larix Broadcaster can send an RTMP or RTMPS feed to a YouTube livestream scheduled in advance. Copy the stream URL and key for that specific event into Larix, start Larix, wait for YouTube to show the preview, then select Go live in YouTube Live Control Room—unless the event is set to start automatically when the encoder connects.
What you need before connecting
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the event. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
- A scheduled YouTube event and its current stream URL and stream key. The key is private: it controls where YouTube accepts the encoder feed. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update Larix. See YouTube’s live stream settings guide.
- Larix Broadcaster configured to publish using RTMP or RTMPS. Softvelum documents RTMP publishing and a YouTube connection example at Larix documentation; its Android documentation lists H.264/AVC video and AAC audio encoding.
Compatibility follows YouTube’s standard encoder ingest workflow, but it is not a guarantee for every phone, codec selection, network, or event configuration. Allow time to test the exact device and event setup.
Connect Larix to the scheduled event
- Open or schedule the event in YouTube Studio. Go to Create → Go live, then open the Manage tab to schedule a stream or select an existing scheduled event. YouTube allows you to reuse prior settings or create a new event. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup steps.
- Copy the event’s stream credentials. Open the scheduled event’s stream settings and copy its stream URL and stream key. Use the values shown for this event, not an example key or an old value from another stream. Keep the key private.
- Add an RTMP publishing connection in Larix. Enter the URL and key for the scheduled event in Larix’s connection settings. Softvelum describes the combined connection URL as the server/application URL plus the stream key. Its documented YouTube server example is
rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2; use the actual event values YouTube gives you rather than treating that sample as the full event connection. - Start Larix and check YouTube’s preview. Start publishing from the app. In Live Control Room, wait until YouTube receives the feed and displays the preview. If YouTube does not receive video or audio, check the connection values and the troubleshooting section below.
- Launch the scheduled broadcast. With the preview ready, click Go live in Live Control Room if the event uses manual launch. A scheduled page alone does not mean the event is live. If you enabled encoder auto-start, the event may start when the feed arrives instead; the exact behavior depends on the event’s auto-start and auto-stop settings.
- End the broadcast cleanly. End or stop the event using YouTube’s controls, then stop sending from Larix according to the event controls. YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.
Choose manual launch or encoder auto-start
For the standard manual workflow, Larix sends the feed first and you start the event in Live Control Room after checking the preview. YouTube also offers auto-start and auto-stop settings, which change whether a separate manual launch is needed. Check the scheduled event’s settings rather than assuming one launch method applies to every stream. The URL and key must still match the event configuration.
YouTube’s preparation advice is to set up an encoder stream at least two hours before the event and start the encoder at least 15 minutes before it begins, then verify the preview. These are YouTube’s planning recommendations, not Larix-specific technical requirements. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
#1 Best Overall

- MATERIAL: the black part made of sturdy plastic, the female threads inserted are brass, the male screw is steel and soft non-slipping silica gel pads, which protect your cellphone from scratch and hold the phone securely.
- ATTACHABLE TO: most mobile phones, tripods, unipods, selfie sticks, cameras, camcorders, pico projectors, including iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max/X/XS/XR/XS Max/8/7/6/6s Plus/SE/5s/5/5c, Samsung Galaxy S10/10+/S9/S9+/S8/S8+/S7/S6/S6 edge, Note10/10+/9/8 and Android phones.
Troubleshoot connection and launch problems
- YouTube does not receive the feed: Confirm Larix is publishing to the scheduled event’s current stream URL and key. A typo, stale key, or key reset can prevent a connection. If a third-party encoder will not start, YouTube recommends copying a new stream key from Live Control Room and updating the encoder; see YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide.
- The preview appears, but the event has not started: In manual mode, click Go live in Live Control Room after checking the preview. If auto-start is enabled, check the event’s settings and status instead of expecting the manual launch step.
- The event will not accept a livestream: Check that the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restriction from the preceding 90 days. If live streaming was only just enabled, YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- Video or audio is missing: Confirm Larix is sending a compatible video-and-audio feed and inspect its selected encoding and the YouTube preview. Softvelum’s Grove examples use video-plus-audio mode for YouTube rather than video-only or audio-only; the exact result can depend on the device and configuration.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous, pre-recorded YouTube stream rather than a phone-camera broadcast, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the loop running, so nothing has to stay on at home; it streams your uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not stream from a camera. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
