Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteNot as a documented direct source. Streamlabs Mobile’s published setup guides describe streaming your phone’s camera or screen and customizing scenes with widgets, themes, and images; they do not show how to add a video stored on your phone as a scene source. Screen-sharing a video player may work on some devices, but the available guidance does not establish that both its picture and audio will reach your YouTube stream.
What Streamlabs Mobile documents
Streamlabs’ Mobile guidance describes two broad ways to broadcast: use the phone camera, or stream content from the phone screen. It also describes customizing the mobile scene with widgets, overlay themes, and custom images. Those instructions do not document selecting a locally stored video file as a direct scene source.
That is a limit of what the published instructions establish, not proof that every version of the app is technically incapable of playing or capturing a local file. App features and operating-system behavior can change, so check the current app and its in-app source options for your device.
Could screen sharing show a video from your camera roll?
Possibly, if you can play the clip in a phone video player while broadcasting the screen. But screen sharing is not the same as adding a video file as a controlled scene source. The reviewed instructions do not guarantee that a local player’s picture and sound will both be captured, nor do they establish how playback behaves when you switch apps or receive a notification.

- Test with a non-private, non-copyright-restricted clip before relying on this approach.
- Check the YouTube preview or a private/unlisted test stream to confirm both picture and audio, where those options are available to your account.
- Check whether the phone or player mutes audio, pauses playback, or hides protected video during screen capture.
- Do not assume another app’s video is cleared for rebroadcast. You remain responsible for the rights to video and audio you stream.
For a more controlled clip, check Streamlabs Desktop
Streamlabs documents scenes and sources in its computer-based Desktop workflow. If you need to cue a pre-recorded clip as part of a production, inspect the source options in the Desktop version installed on your computer and confirm that it offers the file or media source behavior you need. The documentation establishes Desktop scene and source controls generally; it does not settle the exact video-file control available in every version.
Streamlabs also documents an Android Mobile LAN workflow: a phone camera or screen feed can be sent to Streamlabs Desktop over the same local network and added there as a Media Source. That is a way to bring a live phone feed into a Desktop scene, not a documented method for loading a stored video file directly in Mobile. See the Mobile LAN guide.
