If the footer is still missing, check whether the content scrolls inside a panel, let any scroll-loaded content appear, then retry and inspect the result. FireShot documents these capture modes, but its support forum also records page-specific cases of bottom clipping, so no single fix is guaranteed.
Choose the FireShot mode that matches what you need
FireShot separates full-document capture from viewport capture. Its manual describes the full-page command this way: “Clicking «Capture entire Page and…» grabs entire web page including the areas that you cannot see without scrolling.” FireShot manual
- Capture entire Page: Use this to include content below the visible browser window, including the footer.
- Capture visible Area: Use this only when you want the current viewport. It will not capture the off-screen footer.
- Selection or element capture: Use this when you need a particular part of the page, especially if it scrolls independently inside a panel. Results can vary by page and browser.
Capture the page without losing its bottom
- Open the page and wait for its visible content to finish loading. If the page reveals more content as you scroll, scroll far enough for the part you need—including the footer—to appear before capturing. This is a practical precaution for dynamic pages, not a guaranteed FireShot repair.
- Open FireShot from the browser toolbar or browser menu.
- Select Capture entire Page or the equivalent entire-page command in your installed version. Avoid Capture visible Area for this task.
- If the page’s main document does not scroll but a panel inside it does, try FireShot’s scrolling-selection or element-capture option on that panel.
- Save in a format offered by your installed FireShot version, such as PDF, PNG, or JPEG, then inspect the bottom of the saved file to confirm the footer is present.
Check the scroll area if the footer is missing
A page can have more than one scrollable area. If the browser page itself scrolls, full-page capture is the relevant mode. If the footer belongs to a separate scrolling panel, a document-wide capture may not include the panel’s off-screen contents in the way you expect. Try capturing that specific region with FireShot’s selection or element feature. FireShot lists scrolling selections and webpage-element capture, but the available evidence does not establish that either works for every site or browser.
What to do when the capture is still clipped
- Confirm the chosen command was Capture entire Page, not visible-area capture.
- Wait for any content that appears during scrolling to load, then retry once.
- Check whether the missing footer is inside a nested scrolling region and try selection or element capture on that region.
- If the result remains incomplete, note the exact page URL, browser and browser version, FireShot version, and capture mode. Consult the FireShot support forum with those details. An administrator requested the URL in one incomplete-capture case; individual forum reports do not establish a universal cause or fix.
Long and dynamic pages need extra checking
Very tall pages, pages that load content as you scroll, and other complex layouts may behave differently from a short static article. FireShot’s release history documents fixes and options for infinite-page handling and screenshots taller than 10,000 pixels. That history is a reason to inspect unusually long captures rather than assume they will match a short-page result; it does not guarantee a specific page will capture successfully.
