Practical verdict: Start with FireShot if searchable/selectable PDF text, clickable links, page layout controls, or batch PDF archiving are central. Consider FuseBase if sharing, collaboration, recording, or guides belong in the same workflow. Those are documentation-based distinctions, not results of a hands-on comparison.
What “Nimbus Screenshot” refers to now
The product identity depends on the browser listing. The current Chrome listing is named “FuseBase Pro – Capture screenshots and Video record” and identifies publisher Nimbus Web, Inc.; it lists version 3.6.19, updated April 29, 2026. The vendor’s former Nimbus product page redirects to FuseBase. The Firefox add-on listing remains under Nimbus Screenshot, version 15.6.9, last updated July 31, 2020. Treat that Firefox page as information about its listed version, not confirmation that every older Nimbus feature exists in the current product or is currently supported in Firefox. How to save a webpage as a PDF with either extension
Both product families document capturing whole pages and saving captures as PDFs. Exact menus can vary by browser and extension version, so use the installed extension’s current controls rather than relying on an old menu label.

- Open the webpage and wait for its visible content to finish loading. If it uses lazy-loaded images or content that appears while scrolling, scroll through the page first and wait for those elements to appear.
- Open the extension from the browser toolbar. Choose a full-page or whole-page capture for the complete document; choose visible-area or selection capture if you only need part of it.
- Review the capture before export. Check for missing sections, sticky headers repeated in odd places, clipped embedded content, and any sensitive details you do not want in the file.
- Choose the PDF save/export option. In FireShot, select the PDF settings available in your edition; in Nimbus/FuseBase, use the PDF save control shown in the installed listing’s workflow.
- Open the saved PDF in a reader and test the properties that matter: search for a phrase, select and copy text, click a link, and inspect page breaks. A PDF extension’s feature description is not a substitute for checking your actual page.
Picking FireShot’s edition for PDF work
FireShot’s comparison matrix distinguishes Lite and Pro. It lists PDF capabilities such as single- and multipage output, text search/selection/copy, direct links, custom page size, headers/footers, and combining all tabs into one PDF by edition. As displayed on October 3, 2026, FireShot’s purchase page listed Pro at $39.95 per year or $99.95 for a one-time lifetime license. The vendor says all Pro plans include advanced PDF export, capture history, batch/automated captures, and on-device processing; editor and smart annotation availability is Windows-only. Test the PDF before relying on it
Full-page capture is not the same as preserving a web page perfectly. Test one page representative of your actual work before archiving a large set or sharing the PDF as a record.
- Text: Search for a phrase and select/copy a sentence. If text is essential, confirm that the output is not merely a flat image.
- Links: Click a few links in the PDF, including one in the body and one near the bottom. Do not infer clickability from a screenshot or a general PDF-save claim.
- Pagination: Inspect headings, tables, and images around page breaks. Check whether the extension offers page size, margins, headers, or footers if those affect your use.
- Long and dynamic pages: Scroll through lazy-loaded sections before capturing. Test pages with sticky elements, embedded frames, inner scrolling panes, or login-protected material separately.
- Privacy: Avoid capturing credentials or sensitive material until you have reviewed the extension’s current permissions and data disclosures.
Privacy, sharing, and workflow differences
FireShot: local processing with browser permissions to consider
FireShot says capture processing happens locally and that it can be used offline. Its product page also describes saving in multiple formats, sending by email, copying to the clipboard, uploading, and exporting to OneNote or another program. Local processing can suit an offline or file-first workflow, but the Mozilla listing declares broad website access permission. FuseBase: capture alongside sharing and collaboration
The current Chrome listing describes online sharing and routes such as FuseBase, Slack, and Google Drive/Classroom, as well as recording and guide creation. Its store disclosure lists personally identifiable information, authentication information, and website content as handled categories. That does not by itself describe how a particular capture is processed or retained; consult the listing and current privacy policy for the details relevant to your account and organization. The PDF stops at the visible screen
Confirm you chose full-page capture rather than visible-area capture. If the page loads content only as you scroll, scroll through it first, then capture again. For a nested scrolling panel, test whether the extension can capture that region rather than the document as a whole.
Text cannot be selected or searched
Check that the selected FireShot edition and export mode include text features in the current comparison matrix. For FuseBase, the current Chrome listing confirms PDF saving but does not establish searchable/selectable PDF text. Test the exported file itself before choosing a workflow that depends on text.

Links do not work in the PDF
FireShot advertises direct links, but verify that the edition and output you use retain them. The current FuseBase Chrome listing does not specify comparable link preservation. Test several links in the exported PDF rather than assuming a PDF save option preserves them.
Parts of the page are missing, repeated, or obscured
Wait for loading and scroll through lazy content. Sticky navigation, embedded frames, and dynamic page sections can behave differently during capture; compare the PDF with the source page and try a different capture mode if necessary. Neither product’s listing establishes identical results on every site.
