How do I capture an entire web page with Awesome Screenshot?
The Help Center article updated December 24, 2025, gives browser-specific labels. Use the path for your browser:
- Chrome, Edge, and other browsers supporting its Chrome extension: open the extension, choose Capture, then Full Page. The instructions also mention shortcuts.
- Safari: open the extension and choose Capture Full Page.
- Firefox: open the extension and choose Capture Entire Page.

How do I capture a scrolling screenshot with ShareX?
- Open ShareX’s main window or its tray menu.
- Choose Capture → Scrolling capture. You can configure a hotkey instead if that suits your workflow.
- Select the region to capture. If fixed sidebars or footers are causing trouble, narrow the selection to the page content.
- Allow ShareX to scroll and capture through the page, then inspect the resulting image.
ShareX describes the process as taking an initial screenshot, comparing each later frame with the previous one, cutting away the overlapping top area, and appending the newly exposed portion. This is screen-image stitching, so content that changes between frames can affect the match. ShareX explains the scrolling-capture process and caveats.
What the status indicators mean
- Yellow: images did not match perfectly, so ShareX used the best available match.
- Red: ShareX could not combine the first two images and stopped capture.
How to reduce stitching problems
- Select only the content area if a fixed footer or sidebar is interfering.
- Move the pointer away from hover-sensitive content so hover effects do not change between frames.
- Watch for animated content, such as video or GIFs, which may look different in successive screenshots.

Which tool is better for a full-page screenshot?
- Try Awesome Screenshot first if you want a browser-extension command and your browser has the documented full-page option.
- Try ShareX first if you use Windows and want a desktop scrolling-capture workflow with configurable after-capture tasks.
Neither set of official pages establishes which is faster, more accurate, or more reliable across websites. ShareX documents specific stitching caveats; the cited Awesome Screenshot instructions do not provide a comparable failure analysis. That difference in documentation is not proof that Awesome Screenshot never fails.
