You may not need an add-on: Firefox can save a full-page screenshot from its built-in screenshot interface. If you need element capture or command-level controls, Firefox Developer Tools offer those too. GoFullPage is also currently listed for Firefox, alongside alternatives with different output and editing features.
Capture a full page with Firefox’s built-in tool
Open the page you want to capture, then use the page context menu’s Take Screenshot command or press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS. Choose Save full page to capture content below the fold. Firefox also offers visible-area, recognized-page-part, and manually selected-region captures; the result can be downloaded as an image or copied to the clipboard. Mozilla’s screenshot instructions cover the interface and options.
Use Developer Tools for element capture or more control
Firefox Developer Tools can capture an entire page or a specific element. To expose the page-capture button, open Developer Tools settings and enable Available Toolbox Buttons → Take a screenshot of the entire page. For command-line-style control within Firefox, use the Web Console’s :screenshot helper.
Its documented options include --fullpage, --selector, --delay, --dpr, --clipboard, --file, and --filename. For example, to capture a full page to a named file, enter :screenshot --fullpage --filename page.png in the Web Console. To target an element, use :screenshot --selector "main" --filename main.png. Check Mozilla’s Web Console helper documentation for current syntax and option details.

| Option | What its listing or documentation describes | Useful when | Limit to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firefox built-in Screenshots | Full page, visible part, recognized part, or selected region; download image or copy to clipboard. | You need an occasional capture without installing an extension. | No independent reliability comparison is available. |

| GoFullPage | Scrolling capture, image/PDF export, inner scrollable elements and iframes, plus a premium editor. | You want its scrolling workflow while working in Firefox. | Its listing says capture scrolls and assembles the page; very large results may be split. |

Read the individual listings for FireShot, Full Web Page Screenshot, OpenScreenShot, and Fullshot before choosing. The most useful distinction is the job you need done: native one-off capture, element selection, PDF or batch output, editing, or handling a page with nested scrolling and lazy-loaded content.
Check permissions, privacy, and compatibility before installing
- Permissions: Review what the add-on requests on its current Mozilla Add-ons page and decide whether access is appropriate for the pages you capture.
- Privacy: Read the listing’s data-collection disclosures and distinguish a developer’s local-processing claim from independently verified behavior.
- Compatibility and updates: Confirm the Firefox version requirement and current update information. Listing dates above are snapshots recorded October 3, 2026; add-on details can change.
- Complex pages: If screenshots matter for work, try the candidate on representative pages with long content, nested scroll panels, lazy images, sticky headers, or embedded frames. The listings do not establish which extension is most reliable on those cases.
Or skip the browser setup
