If you exported a PRISM Live Studio Desktop Scene Set before reinstalling, import that saved .psc or .json file to restore it. PRISM says Desktop scenes and sources are saved locally on the device, not tied to your account, so signing in alone is not a documented recovery method. Playlist entries and settings after a fresh reinstall are less certain: PRISM’s documentation does not explicitly say that every Music Playlist detail is preserved in a Scene Set export.
Restore a PRISM Desktop Scene Set from a saved file
Use this route if you have an exported Scene Set on the computer or another storage location. PRISM recommends exporting a Scene Set to preserve scenes before logging out, and its documentation describes importing a saved collection as the restore path.
- Install and launch PRISM Live Studio Desktop.
- Beside the Scenes tab, open the active Scene Set dropdown and choose Scene Set Management.
- Choose Import, then Local, and select the saved collection file.
- Apply the imported Scene Set in the management window.
- Open the restored scenes and inspect their sources. Confirm that referenced images, video, audio, and other local assets still exist at usable file paths. Check the Music Playlist source separately.
PRISM documents two export formats: .psc, its PRISM Scene Collection format, and .json, described as more universal for sharing with other streaming applications. Prefer .psc for a PRISM-focused backup; use .json when interoperability matters. PRISM’s FAQ also describes exporting via Menu > List of Scenes > Export or from the Scene Dock.
Can I get my scenes back by logging in?
Not according to PRISM’s documented Desktop recovery process. Its “Managing Scene Sets” guide says: “The scene and source information is saved locally on your device, not tied to your account.” Logging into the same PRISM account on another device therefore is not documented as a way to retrieve those scenes and sources.

If reinstalling removed the local application data and you have no exported Scene Set, the official documentation reviewed here does not provide an account-based recovery route or a separate file-recovery procedure. Avoid assuming that a mobile feature applies: PRISM’s mobile Media Playlist guide describes playlists saved in My Studio, but that does not establish account syncing for Desktop scenes or playlists.
Will my music playlist come back after reinstall?
PRISM documents a Desktop Music Playlist source that can use local computer audio files or music supplied through PRISM. It does not explicitly promise that a Scene Set export and import preserves every playlist entry, playback option, display property, or local file path after a clean reinstall. Treat playlist restoration as something to verify, not a guaranteed result.

If the playlist uses local audio
The audio files must still be available to the computer, and the restored source must be able to access them at valid paths. A scene collection is not a substitute for keeping the media files themselves. After importing, open the Music Playlist source and check its entries and playback behavior.
If the playlist uses PRISM-provided music
PRISM says its supplied free music is licensed or directly contracted for use in broadcasts and recordings, but the music files cannot be downloaded; they are provided by streaming through the app. This is not a local file backup, so check the playlist in Desktop after reinstall rather than expecting a downloaded copy to restore it.

Check playlist order and on-screen song information
PRISM’s Desktop guide says playlist order can be changed by dragging items in the playlist window, and source properties include an option to show or hide song information on screen. Verify these settings in the restored source because the documentation does not specify whether all such details survive a fresh reinstall.
Choose a backup format and keep the backup usable
| Format | Best fit | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
.psc |
Keeping a PRISM-focused backup | PRISM Scene Collection format intended for PRISM |
.json |
Sharing with other streaming applications | More universal collection format, as PRISM describes it |
Store the exported collection somewhere you can reach after reinstalling, rather than only in the data location that may be removed with the application. A USB drive is one optional way to carry the export; it does not recover settings by itself. Keep local media files separately too, and confirm the paths after import.
