GoFullPage advertises support for sticky and fixed elements, but its own FAQ acknowledges that some pages do not capture properly; custom scrolling interfaces and browser PDF viewers are documented limitations. GoFullPage’s FAQ is the source for its troubleshooting guidance.
Prepare the page before capturing
GoFullPage recommends closing information bars and pop-ups, scrolling the full page, and loading its content before starting a capture. This is a useful first step because page content may appear only as you scroll, and overlays can obscure what the extension captures.
- Close cookie notices, information bars, pop-ups, and other overlays on the page.
- Scroll from the top to the bottom yourself. Pause where necessary for images or other deferred content to load.
- Return to the top and start a new GoFullPage capture.
- Inspect the resulting image for repeated, misplaced, missing, or blank sections.
These are GoFullPage’s general preparation steps, not a guarantee that a particular sticky header will be handled correctly. Its Chrome Web Store listing advertises sticky- and fixed-element handling, while the FAQ notes that some pages still do not capture properly. The FAQ does not publish a success rate for sticky-header captures.
Work out what is stopping the capture
The page does not scroll during capture
Some sites use custom JavaScript to manage scrolling instead of the ordinary page scroll behavior. GoFullPage names Adobe Spark pages as an example where its extension may be unable to scroll or capture correctly. If the site provides an ordinary page view, trying that view is a reasonable workaround, but it is not a confirmed fix for every site.
Also check whether the page is a PDF displayed in the browser’s built-in viewer. GoFullPage says it cannot access a PDF opened in that viewer for its normal scrolling capture. If possible, open the PDF in a way that presents it as a regular page or use a PDF-specific workflow instead.
The sticky header repeats, overlaps content, or appears in the wrong position
A sticky or fixed header changes position as the page scrolls. Although GoFullPage advertises handling for these elements, its documentation does not promise that every site’s implementation will be captured correctly. A page-specific scrolling system or interaction between the header and page layout may be involved; without the affected URL and its implementation, the cause cannot be identified more precisely.
Try the preparation steps once, then compare the result with the page as you scroll manually. Do not assume that a particular CSS change, browser flag, or site-specific setting is an officially supported GoFullPage fix: the official guidance does not establish one for an unknown page.

The capture is blank, incomplete, or split into many images
Very large pages can produce several output images, especially on displays with high pixel density. GoFullPage’s FAQ says a very large number of output images can prevent completion. If the extension offers split-image output, use it when a single tall capture is impractical, and consider capturing a smaller page region if that meets your need. The FAQ gives qualitative guidance rather than a maximum page height or a guaranteed output limit.

When a repeatable problem remains after page preparation, GoFullPage directs users to contact support from inside the extension. For a useful report, include the affected page address, browser and extension versions, and a short description of what happened—for example, whether scrolling stopped, the header repeated, or the output was blank. These details help describe the issue; GoFullPage’s FAQ does not list them as formal support requirements.

Check current installation guidance
Extension availability and store listings can change. GoFullPage’s developer posted a Chrome update on August 11, 2026, about a temporary Chrome Web Store removal over a copyright-related issue. The post said the developer believed the removal was in error; that is the developer’s position, not an independently established finding. GoFullPage’s homepage later announced an official Firefox add-on on September 7, 2026. For current browser links and installation instructions, check the official GoFullPage homepage rather than relying on an older listing or announcement.

Does GoFullPage guarantee that every sticky header will be captured correctly?
No. The extension advertises sticky- and fixed-element handling, but its FAQ acknowledges that some pages do not capture properly and gives no success rate.
Why does GoFullPage fail to scroll some pages?
Some sites manage scrolling with custom JavaScript, which GoFullPage says can prevent normal extension scrolling and capture. Its FAQ also identifies PDFs opened in the browser viewer as inaccessible to its normal scrolling capture.
