If GoFullPage stops early, leaves a blank section, or produces several images, first check whether the tab is a regular webpage, whether the page uses an iframe or custom scrolling, and whether the capture is simply too large to fit in one image. Update Chrome and GoFullPage, then try the specific fixes below. Some site-specific pages may remain incompatible.
Why GoFullPage may capture only part of a page
GoFullPage says some pages do not capture properly, including browser-rendered PDFs and sites that manage scrolling with custom JavaScript. Its ability to handle long pages, lazy-loaded content, sticky elements, and wide layouts does not guarantee compatibility with every site. The extension’s FAQ gives Adobe Spark as an example of a site with custom scrolling.
Work through the checks in order, starting with the type of page you are capturing.
Check whether the tab is a PDF or an ordinary webpage
A PDF opened in the browser is not necessarily a normal, scrollable HTML webpage. GoFullPage says it cannot access a PDF document to scroll through and capture it as an ordinary webpage. If the browser is displaying a PDF, use the PDF viewer’s own save or print options instead of treating it as a webpage capture.
Handle iframe permission prompts
If a page embeds content in an iframe, GoFullPage may show an optional permission prompt. The extension says that extra access is needed to scroll and capture iframe content. If you decline, GoFullPage will not run on that page; pages without iframe content can still work.

Decide based on whether you want the extension to capture the embedded content. The permissions guide says the request is contextual and the extension runs when you activate it. See GoFullPage’s iframe permissions guide for details.
Fix blank sections or a screenshot that ends too soon
- Update Chrome and GoFullPage. The FAQ’s references to Chrome 76/77 and GoFullPage versions below 6.4 are historical examples, not current version recommendations. Use the current browser and extension updates rather than trying to match those old numbers.
- Check DevTools mobile emulation. If you are capturing with a device emulated in Chrome DevTools, make sure the entire emulated device is visible on your screen. GoFullPage says that if it is cut off, the below-the-fold portion may not be captured.
- Check how the site scrolls. Some sites control scrolling through their own JavaScript rather than behaving like a standard document. GoFullPage acknowledges that such pages may not capture properly; there is no universal setting that fixes every site.
For installation or updates, use the official GoFullPage Chrome Web Store listing. The vendor reported that its core Chrome extension became available again on September 10, 2026, following a temporary store availability issue.

What to do with very long pages or high-resolution captures
A very tall or high-resolution capture can exceed what the browser can produce as one image. GoFullPage may split the result into multiple images, and the FAQ warns that a capture can fail if it produces many images. Splitting is an available outcome, not a guarantee that an exceptionally large page will finish successfully.
If the result opens but looks small, click the screenshot in the result tab: GoFullPage says this toggles the display zoom. A zoomed-out preview is not evidence that the downloaded image has lost resolution. Its FAQ also describes configuring a PDF export as a full image to place the capture on one PDF page; that changes the PDF layout, not the underlying image-size limit.

Use a different capture method when the page is incompatible
If the tab is a PDF, the site’s custom scrolling defeats the extension, or large captures repeatedly fail, use a method that fits that page type or site behavior. For a PDF, save or print from the browser’s PDF viewer. For a webpage that needs reliable scrolling or iframe access, a screenshot API is an alternative to a browser extension; verify that the method supports the page and output you need.

Why didn’t the page scroll during capture?
The site may control scrolling with custom JavaScript that GoFullPage cannot handle. If it persists, contact support from within the extension.
Why is the end of my screenshot blank?
Update Chrome and GoFullPage, and if you are using Chrome DevTools mobile emulation, ensure the emulated device is fully visible on screen.

Why is the screenshot split into multiple images?
The page may be too large for the browser to render as one image. GoFullPage may split it, but captures that produce many images can still fail.
