What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
No. If PRISM Live Studio on your computer is sending the video to YouTube, that computer must stay on and connected for the stream to continue. Scheduling a YouTube live event does not supply the video feed or keep PRISM running after shutdown.
Why PRISM stops when the PC is off
PRISM Live Studio acts as the encoder in this setup: it sends video to YouTube using the platform’s stream URL and stream key. PRISM’s official FAQ describes entering the YouTube stream key in PRISM’s RTMP setup, and YouTube’s encoder guide likewise explains connecting an encoder to a live stream.
Because PRISM is the source sending the feed, turning off the computer stops that source. YouTube Help puts the relationship plainly: “To end the stream, stop sending content from your encoder.” A scheduled event may provide a live page and let viewers set reminders, but the encoder still has to connect and send video when it is time to go live.
What scheduling and archiving do—and do not do
Scheduling creates an event, not an unattended player
You can schedule a YouTube live stream to promote it and give viewers a place to set reminders. Scheduling does not run PRISM, play a playlist, or keep a feed flowing after the computer is shut down. YouTube’s live stream settings guidance describes managing the scheduled event; its encoder instructions still require a video source to start the broadcast.

Automatic archiving happens after or alongside a stream
Google’s live-production guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That is a rule about saving a recording, not about how long PRISM can run, whether a playlist loops, or whether the feed continues when the PC is off.
What to use if the computer must stay off
Hardware for prerecorded media
YouTube’s encoder guide names the AJA HELO Plus as a standalone encoder and says its optional PlayToStream feature can schedule and stream prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. That is a documented hardware route for prerecorded media, but the guide does not confirm importing a YouTube playlist URL, looping playlist items, or compatibility with PRISM. Check current AJA documentation or ask the vendor about those requirements before buying it for playlist playback.
