If the full-page result is still cut off, let the page finish loading, capture again, and test Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check whether an extension or hardware acceleration is involved.
Choose the full-page capture mode
Firefox Screenshots offers different capture scopes. Save visible saves only the portion currently shown in the browser window; Save full page requests the whole webpage. You can also select a region yourself or capture an automatically highlighted part of the page. These options are documented in Mozilla’s Take screenshots in Firefox guide.
- Open the page you want to capture and open Firefox Screenshots.
- Select Save full page.
- Wait for the capture to complete, then choose Download or Copy.
Download saves a PNG to Firefox’s default download folder. Copy places the image on your clipboard so you can paste it into another app.
Open Screenshots if you cannot find the command
Mozilla documents these desktop options for opening the screenshot interface:
- Context menu: right-click an empty part of the webpage and select Take Screenshot.
- Keyboard shortcut: press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Toolbar button: open Customize Toolbar and add the Screenshot button.
Menu availability and labels can vary by platform and Firefox version. Mozilla’s desktop instructions document the shortcuts above; they do not establish that full-page capture works identically on desktop, Android, and iOS.
If full-page capture still cuts off content
Let the page finish loading
Some pages fill in content after the initial view appears. Wait for the page to finish loading, scroll through it if needed to allow content to appear, then try Save full page again. This is a basic retry, not a guarantee for content a site loads only after a particular interaction.

Save the image and inspect the result
Use Download to inspect the PNG outside Firefox, or use Copy and paste it into an image-capable app. This helps distinguish a capture that genuinely ends early from a preview or clipboard issue.
Check for extension or graphics interference
Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode and repeat the capture. If it works there but not in a normal session, an extension or hardware acceleration may be contributing. Mozilla Support suggested this diagnostic in a specific support case; it is a way to isolate possible interference, not proof that either cause explains every cutoff. Keep reports about very long pages in perspective
A 2019 Mozilla Support discussion describes full-page screenshots ending early on very long pages and includes a moderator’s explanation involving canvas volume. That historical report does not establish a current universal maximum page length, a configurable threshold, or the cause of a particular failure. Mozilla’s current instructions do not specify a general full-page size limit.
What Firefox says it collects
Mozilla says Screenshots event data can include interactions with controls such as Copy or Save full page, but not the URL or details of the captured image. In Mozilla’s words: “We never collect data such as the URL or details of the image captured.” See Mozilla’s Screenshots privacy and usage information.
