Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFor most Firefox users, start with Firefox Screenshots: it is built into Firefox and captures a full page, visible area, or selected region without installing an extension. Choose GoFullPage when you specifically need its listed PNG, JPEG, or PDF exports, editing tools, or advertised support for inner scroll areas and embedded iframes. Available documentation does not establish that either option is faster or more accurate on long pages, so the better choice depends on what you need to do with the capture.
Which tool should you choose?
| Your need | Better starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Capture a full page, the visible area, or a selected region without installing anything | Firefox Screenshots | It is built into Firefox’s documented screenshot workflow and can save an image or copy it to the clipboard. |
| Export as PNG, JPEG, or PDF | GoFullPage | Its Firefox Add-ons listing describes all three formats and multiple PDF paper sizes. |
| Crop, annotate, or add emoji to a capture | GoFullPage | The listing describes these as features of its premium editor. |
| Capture content in inner scroll areas or embedded iframes | Consider GoFullPage | The developer advertises support for these cases; this is a feature description, not independent testing. |
| Decide based on speed, fidelity, or a maximum page height | No established winner | The cited product materials do not provide a controlled comparison, long-page benchmark, or explicit universal size limit. |
How Firefox Screenshots works
Firefox Screenshots offers full-page, visible-area, and selected-region capture. It can also highlight a page element for selection. Open the tool from the page context menu, press Ctrl+Shift+S (or Command+Shift+S on macOS), or add a toolbar button. The Mozilla support article documents saving the result as an image or copying it to the clipboard; it does not document an editing suite.
For a long page, choose full-page capture when you need the whole document. Choose a selected region when only one section matters, or the visible area when you want exactly what is currently on screen. If the output is important, open or paste the saved image and inspect it before sharing: the documentation does not specify a maximum supported page height or promise that every dynamic page element will appear.

The developer also advertises capture of inner scrollable areas and embedded iframes. These may make GoFullPage a useful candidate for pages with nested scrolling or embedded content, but the listing is not an independent accuracy test. It warns that very large pages may be split into images in separate tabs, so check the resulting files and tabs if you capture an unusually long page.
Long pages, dynamic content, and accuracy
Neither cited source establishes a universal maximum page length or a head-to-head result for speed, reliability, or image fidelity. Long pages can contain lazy-loaded images, sticky headers, nested scrolling, or frames, and those details can affect what a capture contains. The available material does not prove how either tool handles every such combination.
- Try the capture on the actual page you need, especially if it loads content as you scroll.
- Inspect the beginning, middle, and end of a long result for missing sections, repeated sticky elements, or unexpected breaks.
- If the page contains an inner scroll area or iframe, GoFullPage’s listing says it supports those cases, but verify the output rather than treating the claim as a guarantee.
- For very large GoFullPage captures, look for output split across separate tabs, as its listing warns this can happen.
Privacy and permissions
Mozilla’s Firefox Screenshots support article says: “We only collect interaction data such as your use of the Copy or Save full page button. We never collect data such as the URL or details of the image captured.” This statement is about Firefox Screenshots and does not describe all Firefox telemetry or other Mozilla products. The article also explains settings for disabling the relevant collection.

If you need screenshots in a script or AI workflow rather than from a browser button, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A single GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. For a page capture, use cURL:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API options. It accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf. The free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
