To capture a scrolling page with Screenshot Machine, use its HTTP screenshot API from a shell with curl and set dimension to a width followed by xfull, such as 1366xfull. Screenshot Machine documents this curl-based workflow; the available documentation does not establish a separate ScreenshotMachine CLI command.

Capture a full-page screenshot with curl

You need a Screenshot Machine customer key and the complete URL of the page to capture. Replace the placeholders below with your own values; do not put a real key in a public script or shared command history.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotmachine.com"
  --data-urlencode "key=YOUR_CUSTOMER_KEY"
  --data-urlencode "url=https://example.com/page"
  --data-urlencode "dimension=1366xfull"
  --data-urlencode "format=png"
  -o output.png

The request sends URL-encoded parameters to Screenshot Machine’s API endpoint and writes the response to output.png. The vendor’s Bash example uses the API endpoint and saves the returned image locally. See the Screenshot Machine API documentation for its current parameter syntax and supported values.

What 1366xfull means

The first value is the requested capture width in pixels; full in the height position asks for a full-length page capture. Screenshot Machine also documents 1024xfull as an example. Choose a width appropriate to how the screenshot will be viewed: a larger width may better match a desktop layout, while a smaller one may trigger a mobile or responsive layout only if the selected device and page behavior support it.

Adjust the wait for page content

For a long page with images or animations, add a longer delay, for example:

  --data-urlencode "delay=2000"

Screenshot Machine documents a default delay of 200 milliseconds and values including 0, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, and then 2000 through 10000 in 1000-millisecond increments. A delay is time allowed before capture; it is not a guarantee that all deferred images, scripts, or content will load. The vendor recommends a longer delay for long pages with more images or animations.

Choose the capture settings

The API documentation lists optional settings including device, format, cacheLimit, delay, and zoom. Their accepted values and behavior can change, so check the current vendor documentation before adding less common settings. For this full-page task, the key choices are:

  • Width: Set the first part of dimension for the layout and output size you need.
  • Device: Screenshot Machine documents desktop, phone, and tablet device settings. Use the device mode that reflects the layout you want to capture.
  • Format: Choose an image format supported by the API and use a matching filename extension.
  • Delay: Increase it when the page needs more time for images or animation, while recognizing that a fixed wait cannot guarantee every kind of dynamic content is ready.
  • Zoom: The API lists this as an optional setting; consult its current documentation for exact values and effect.
  • Cache limit: The API lists this option as well; consult the current documentation for its exact behavior and accepted values.

Check the result, especially on dynamic pages

Open the saved file and inspect the entire image rather than checking only its top. Look for missing lower-page sections, repeated content, clipped areas, or a layout that does not suit your intended use. If the bottom is incomplete, increase the documented delay and capture again, then compare the result.

A longer wait may help with ordinary loading, but the documented setting does not establish guaranteed support for infinite scrolling or every lazy-loading implementation. If a page only adds content after a visitor scrolls, a single delay may not cause that content to appear. The sources reviewed do not establish a specific Screenshot Machine setting that simulates scrolling through such a page.

Troubleshooting

  • The request does not authenticate: Check that you supplied your own customer key using the parameter name and syntax in the current API documentation. The Screenshot Machine Python README says the key is available in the user profile after registration.
  • The URL or query breaks the request: Keep --data-urlencode for parameter values, especially the page URL, so characters such as ampersands are encoded correctly.
  • The screenshot ends before the content finishes: Try a longer supported delay. This gives the page more time before capture but cannot force every lazy-loaded section to load.
  • The saved file is not the expected format: Confirm that the requested format and output filename extension match, and check the current API documentation for supported format values.
  • The layout is too wide, narrow, or otherwise wrong: Adjust the width in dimension and, where needed, the documented device setting. Responsive pages can render differently at different widths.
  • You are exposing the key in a public integration: Do not publish a private customer key in client-side code. The vendor’s Python README advises using a secret phrase when calls are made from publicly available websites; verify current account security guidance before deploying.

Other command-line projects are not ScreenshotMachine CLI commands

The separate capture-website-cli project documents a --full-page option, but it is a different tool and does not describe Screenshot Machine’s API. Screenshot Machine’s documented route for this task is the curl request above.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API with an MCP server for AI agents. One GET request can return an image or PDF; its capture flow accepts cookie banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify page verdict and billing status.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com/page -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for request options. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a dedicated ScreenshotMachine CLI command?

The documented method is a curl-based request to Screenshot Machine’s HTTP API, not a separately established CLI command.

Does `1366xfull` make every infinite-scroll page complete?

No. It requests full-page dimensions, but the documented delay does not establish guaranteed handling for content that appears only after scrolling.
