To compare how a mobile website appears on Airtel and Jio, test the live SIMs separately on the same phone, at the same location, with the same browser, viewport, URL and capture endpoint. Repeat the test on each network and record the conditions. A screenshot can show visual differences, but by itself it cannot prove why they happened or measure page speed.
Set up a fair Airtel-versus-Jio comparison
To isolate network-related differences, hold the phone and browser conditions constant. The simplest approach is to use one physical phone and test one live SIM at a time. A dual-SIM phone is optional; you can swap SIMs or use two phones, but differences between two handsets make it harder to attribute a visual change to the network.
- Choose the website and exact URL you will test. Use the same URL, including any path or query string, in every run.
- Use the same phone, browser and browser version. Keep orientation, text size, zoom and viewport unchanged. If using two phones, record their models and treat device differences as a possible explanation.
- Turn off Wi-Fi and VPNs so the page loads over the intended mobile connection.
- Test Airtel and Jio at the same location, preferably close in time. Record the date, local time, indoor or outdoor setting, reported radio mode (such as 4G or 5G) and any obvious signal changes.
- Decide whether you are comparing just the visible viewport or a full-page capture. Use the same choice and the same endpoint for both networks.
- Repeat several page loads on each SIM, alternating which carrier you test first when practical. Save each image with its conditions rather than relying on a single run.
These controls are a practical way to make the comparison interpretable; they are not a published carrier-testing standard.
Capture matching screenshots with Chrome DevTools
Chrome DevTools device mode can set a mobile viewport and capture either the viewport or a full-page screenshot. Its network throttling controls are simulations, not live Airtel or Jio connections. See Chrome DevTools device mode documentation for the capture workflow.

Ctrl+Shift+M(Windows/Linux); on macOS useCommand+Shift+M. - Select a device preset or enter a fixed viewport size. Use the same dimensions for both captures.
- Use the DevTools command menu to find the screenshot command, then choose a viewport or full-size screenshot. Keep the capture type consistent.
- Repeat with the other live SIM’s page state represented in the browser only if you are actually testing on that phone and network. A desktop DevTools page is not itself connected to the phone’s cellular session; for live-network evidence, capture on the phone or use a documented remote workflow that preserves the cellular connection.
For a straightforward live-SIM comparison, take screenshots directly on the phone with the same browser and capture method. DevTools is useful for controlled viewport sizing and simulated conditions, but a desktop browser cannot stand in for a phone’s live cellular connection.
Choose what the screenshots should measure
Viewport or full page
A viewport screenshot is usually the cleanest like-for-like view of the initial screen. A full-page image can reveal missing lower-page content, but only compare it after both pages have reached the same defined endpoint. Long pages, lazy-loaded images and sticky elements can make full-page captures differ for reasons unrelated to the carrier.
First-load and settled-page states
If you care about what a user sees while a page is loading, capture a first-load state and a settled-page state separately. Define the wait time or completion condition in advance and use it on both SIMs. Otherwise, one screenshot might simply have been taken later in the loading process.

Visual observations and timing
Record visible outcomes such as missing images, placeholders, font changes, layout shifts, blank sections or content that appears late. A still image cannot establish the exact cause of a visual problem or measure page speed. If you make timing claims, record timestamps or use a browser performance or network log as well.

Chrome DevTools and Lighthouse can emulate a mobile connection profile, but an emulated profile does not reproduce Airtel or Jio coverage, routing, congestion or radio conditions. Google’s documented Lighthouse mobile throttling preset is 150 ms latency, 1.6 Mbps download, 750 Kbps upload and no packet loss. Those are preset values, not measurements of either operator; see Lighthouse throttling documentation.

If you use Lighthouse’s mobile preset, report the preset and tool version, and label the result as simulated. Do not combine those screenshots with live-SIM runs as though they were the same experiment.
Compare results without overclaiming
Review each carrier across four dimensions: visual completeness and layout stability, time to your defined capture point, consistency across repeated runs, and the conditions recorded for each run. Look for patterns that recur, not a one-off blank section or late image.

Local radio conditions matter. Airtel says its displayed coverage and quality parameters are predicted outdoor estimates and actual experience can vary with geography and building density, among other factors; see Airtel Open Network. National or regional averages therefore cannot predict the experience inside a particular building.

The report presents separate 5G results as well, illustrating that metric and network mode affect the comparison. TRAI drive testing also illustrates why scope matters: its published observations describe the area or route tested at the day and time of testing, using live provider SIM sessions and test handsets. They are not nationwide guarantees. See the Ministry of Communications/PIB report describing TRAI testing.

For a capture request through the ScreenshotNeo API, make a GET request with the page URL. This example saves the response as a WebP file; the API can return PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. API details and parameters are in the ScreenshotNeo documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
ScreenshotNeo accepts consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for AI agents, including Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. It does not replace the live-SIM controls above when the question is specifically how Airtel and Jio behave on a phone.

Common problems and fixes
- The two screenshots show different layouts: Check viewport dimensions, orientation, zoom, text size, browser version and whether each capture used the same page state.
- One image is blank or incomplete: Repeat the run and record whether the page later settles. A single screenshot cannot tell whether the cause was a failed load, page behavior, browser issue or transient network condition.
- The result changes between runs: Repeat on both SIMs, alternate test order and record time and signal changes. Report variability instead of choosing the most favorable run.
- You used DevTools throttling and think it represents a carrier: Label it as emulation and run separate tests over live SIMs to compare Airtel and Jio.
- You see a difference between two phones: Record both handset models, browsers and settings. Repeat on one phone with the SIMs swapped before attributing the change to the network.
- You want to claim one carrier is faster: Add timestamps or browser performance/network logs and define the timing endpoint. The screenshot alone establishes appearance at capture time, not page-load duration.
How to report the comparison
State the handset, browser and version, URL, viewport and capture type, location, date and local test times, indoor or outdoor setting, radio mode, number of runs, and whether the connection was live cellular or simulated. Keep 4G and 5G results separate. Limit the conclusion to the tested phone, place and period rather than generalizing to all Airtel or Jio users.
