To create a daily website screenshot report in Google Sheets, build a Zap that runs on a daily Schedule by Zapier trigger, captures your target page with a screenshot app, and adds a row to a Google Sheet. Zapier has a template using Schedule, Web Parser by Zapier, ScreenshotOne, and Google Sheets; use it as a starting point, then map the fields exposed by your connected screenshot action to your own report columns. Zapier’s daily capture template describes that workflow.
1. Set up the Google Sheet
Create a spreadsheet and put one descriptive header row in row 1 before configuring the Zap. A practical starting layout is:

These are suggested columns, not a fixed schema. Confirm the fields shown in your Zap editor and map only values that the screenshot action actually returns. Zapier says Google Sheets workflows do not recognize multiple header rows and advises against blank rows between populated rows. Keep the header names stable after mapping; if you change them, revisit the Google Sheets action and check its field mappings. Zapier’s Google Sheets setup guidance covers these sheet requirements.
2. Create the daily Zap
- Choose the trigger. In Zapier, create a Zap and select Schedule by Zapier as the trigger app. Choose the Every Day event, set the time you want, and decide whether the schedule should include weekends. Schedule by Zapier documents a daily trigger with a selected time and optional weekend runs. See Schedule by Zapier’s setup guidance.
- Test the schedule trigger. Use the editor’s test step before building the remaining actions, as recommended in Zapier’s Schedule by Zapier instructions. Treat the selected time as the schedule setting; do not assume a run is guaranteed at an exact second.
- Add a screenshot action. The direct Zapier template uses ScreenshotOne, alongside Web Parser by Zapier. Another documented route is GetScreenshot, which can pass a screenshot result to a later Zap step. Select the app and event available to your Zapier account, then connect the account and configure the target URL. GetScreenshot’s Zapier listing describes its screenshot action and notes that a Starter plan is required for Zaps with three or more steps; verify current plan requirements in your account before publishing.
- Configure capture behavior. Choose the options the connected action actually exposes. Depending on the integration, relevant settings can include full-page capture versus a viewport, width or viewport dimensions, and a delay or wait condition. ScreenshotOne documents screenshot options and a daily schedule integration path. See ScreenshotOne’s documentation. A setting that works for one site may not suit another, so test pages with delayed content and decide whether the whole page or just the visible viewport belongs in the report.
- Add Google Sheets. Add an action that creates a new spreadsheet row, select the spreadsheet and worksheet, and map the action’s live fields to the headers you created. Use the screenshot field actually displayed by the connected app; names and output formats can differ. The integrations describe passing screenshot output to a later action, but do not establish one universal field label. - Test the complete Zap, then publish. Run the screenshot and Sheets actions against a representative target page. Confirm the resulting row contains the intended URL and a screenshot value that is useful to your workflow, then turn on the Zap.
3. Choose and validate the screenshot path
Two documented screenshot-service paths are ScreenshotOne, featured in Zapier’s daily screenshot-to-Sheets template, and GetScreenshot, which documents passing its screenshot action’s result to a later Zap step. Neither integration documentation alone establishes how well arbitrary sites will capture, the current total cost at your volume, or exactly which output field your account will show.

4. Troubleshoot common problems
- The Sheet action cannot find the right columns: Check that row 1 is the single header row, that there are no blank rows interrupting populated rows, and that the worksheet selected in Zapier is the intended one. If you changed headers after mapping, reopen the action and remap fields.
- The screenshot is blank or misses content: Test the same page with the action’s available delay or wait settings, and check whether full-page capture is needed. These settings are integration-dependent; verify the result with a test run rather than assuming a particular wait value will work universally.
- The Sheets row has no usable screenshot value: Re-test the screenshot step, inspect the output fields it presents, and map the actual screenshot result or reference to the corresponding column. Integration output labels are not established as uniform across services.
- The Zap cannot be published because of a plan limit: Check the current plan requirements for the number of steps in your Zap. GetScreenshot’s listing says its Starter plan is required for Zaps with three or more steps; confirm that requirement and any other account limits in the live integration before publishing.
- The schedule does not match an exact clock second: Confirm the selected time and weekend setting in the Schedule trigger, and use Zap history to inspect runs. The cited Schedule guidance documents a selected daily time but does not promise an exact-second execution.
