You can automate this with Zapier: use Shopify’s New Order (Instant) trigger, then GetScreenshot’s Take Website Screenshot action. The capture action needs a website URL; add another Zapier action if you want to save or send the image. This is a general Shopify workflow, not a documented India-specific feature. For a custom workflow, Shopify Flow can detect an order and call an external screenshot endpoint, but the cited Flow documentation does not list a built-in screenshot action.

Choose the right order event first

“New order” can mean different things depending on what you want the image to record. Shopify Flow’s Order created trigger runs when a customer places an order or when a draft order is marked paid and converted into an order. It provides the order object to the workflow. Shopify’s Order created trigger documentation describes this behavior.

Order creation does not necessarily mean that you want to wait for a payment transaction. Shopify treats Order transaction created as a distinct trigger for a transaction on an existing order. If the capture should happen only after a payment-related event, choose a trigger that matches that requirement rather than assuming order creation means payment. See Shopify’s Order transaction created reference.

Option 1: Set up the Zapier workflow

Prerequisites

  • An active Shopify store and a paid Zapier plan are required for Zapier’s Shopify app, according to Zapier’s Shopify setup guide.
  • A GetScreenshot account or connection configured in Zapier, and the URL of the page to capture.
  • A destination action, such as a storage or notification app, if the screenshot should be retained or delivered after capture. The integration listing says the screenshot can be passed to a following action; it does not prescribe a particular destination.

Build and test the Zap

  1. In Zapier, create a Zap and select Shopify as the trigger app.
  2. Choose New Order (Instant) and connect the Shopify store. The trigger label and prerequisite are documented in Zapier’s Shopify setup guide.
  3. Add GetScreenshot as the action app and select Take Website Screenshot.
  4. Enter the target website URL. Set the full-page capture and viewport width options to suit the page and intended output. The GetScreenshot Zapier integration listing documents the URL input and capture options.
  5. Add a subsequent Zap action to store, route, or send the image where your team needs it.
  6. Test with a safe test order and a non-sensitive target page. Confirm the trigger data and the screenshot output before turning the workflow on. Shopify’s Flow guidance also recommends checking trigger definition and available data; use a test that matches the event you selected.

Use a public page or verify the access method before depending on a private or authenticated target. The integration listing mentions experimental login bypass, but the available documentation does not establish that it can capture Shopify admin pages or every authenticated page.

Option 2: Use Shopify Flow with an external capture service

Shopify Flow is described as a free app, and Shopify says it is available to merchants on any paid Shopify plan. A Flow workflow uses triggers, conditions, and actions; its references include HTTP request actions for connecting to external systems. Flow can therefore detect the order event and hand work to an external screenshot endpoint, but the cited documentation does not show a native screenshot action.

  1. Install or open Shopify Flow, then create a workflow with the Order created trigger. Confirm that this event matches whether you want customer-placed orders, paid draft orders converted to orders, or another timing.
  2. Add any needed conditions using the order object, such as rules that determine which orders should initiate a capture.
  3. Use a supported HTTP request action or connected app to pass the target URL and any needed workflow data to an external capture capability. You must configure that endpoint and its authentication; Flow’s general reference does not provide a ready-made screenshot endpoint.
  4. Test the workflow using an appropriate test order or Flow test run, then verify both the screenshot response and the destination that receives it.

Shopify’s plan and app details are in its Shopify Flow overview and Flow developer documentation. This route offers orchestration in Shopify, but capture still depends on an external service or endpoint.

How the two approaches differ

Approach What is documented What you still need to arrange
Shopify Flow plus an external capture service Flow is described as a free app; Order created provides an order object; Flow supports external actions including HTTP requests. A screenshot endpoint or service, request configuration, destination, and access to the page being captured. No native Flow screenshot action is documented in the cited references.
Zapier plus GetScreenshot The integration listing directly documents the Shopify trigger and a GetScreenshot action, including a URL and capture settings. A paid Zapier plan for the Shopify app, the target URL and page access, and a following action if you need to store or send the image.

Choose based on the event timing you need, how much configuration you want to maintain, whether the target is publicly reachable, required capture settings, output destination, and the subscriptions already available to your team.

Use ScreenshotNeo to request a screenshot directly from your workflow endpoint. It accepts a URL in one GET request and returns an image or PDF; its API is at ScreenshotNeo. The example below captures a public page. Keep the API key in a secret store rather than in a workflow field visible to everyone.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. In your order automation, replace the example URL with the page you intend to capture and ensure the workflow securely supplies the key.

  • Cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off.
  • Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed; the response identifies the page verdict and billing status.
  • An MCP server provides screenshot tools for AI agents, including Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
  • The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.

India-specific details and safeguards

The Shopify and Zapier documentation cited here describes general product behavior, not an India-only configuration. It does not establish India-specific pricing, tax treatment, data residency, regional latency, or special availability. Check the current app availability and account-specific plan terms for your store before building around them.

Also decide whether the screenshot should contain customer or order information. A public storefront URL captures the page as a visitor can access it; these sources do not establish that either integration can access a private Shopify admin order page. Avoid sending sensitive order details to a capture service unless you have confirmed its access model and your organization’s data-handling requirements.

Troubleshooting

The Zap does not trigger

Confirm that the Shopify store connection is active, the selected trigger is New Order (Instant), and the Zapier plan meets the documented paid-plan requirement. Test with an order that matches the trigger rather than expecting an older order to behave like a new event.

The screenshot action has no usable image

Check that the URL is valid and reachable by the screenshot service. Review the configured capture settings, then test with a simple public page. If the page depends on login or blocks automated access, do not assume the integration’s experimental login bypass will work; the cited listing does not guarantee that result.

The screenshot is missing from the expected destination

Inspect the action output and verify the following Zap step maps the returned screenshot correctly. The capture action and the delivery or storage action are separate parts of the workflow.

A Flow workflow runs at the wrong time

Check whether you used Order created or a transaction trigger. An order being created and a transaction being created are distinct events, so align the trigger with whether the screenshot is intended at order placement or at a later payment-related point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Shopify Flow take screenshots by itself?

The cited Flow references document triggers and external actions, not a native screenshot action. You need an external capture service or endpoint.

Does an order-created trigger prove the customer has paid?

No. Order creation and creation of a transaction are separate events. Choose the trigger based on the timing you need.

Can these integrations screenshot Shopify admin pages?

The cited integration documentation does not establish access to Shopify admin pages. Verify the target’s access method and the capture service’s current capabilities before relying on it.
