One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchFor a full-page screenshot using browser developer tools on a Mac, Firefox has a documented toolbar button and a Web Console command. Chrome’s documented DevTools methods capture a selected area or a specific DOM element—not the entire page. Safari’s documented steps explain how to enable and open Web Inspector, but do not establish a full-page capture procedure.
Choose the capture target first: a whole page, a selected element, or a rectangle you drag over. The steps below distinguish them so you do not mistake an area or element capture for a full-page screenshot.
Firefox: capture an entire webpage
Firefox documents two ways to capture a full page: enable the screenshot toolbar button or use the Web Console’s :screenshot helper. The toolbar button may need to be enabled first. Mozilla’s screenshot documentation describes both methods.
Enable and use the full-page toolbar button
- Open Firefox Developer Tools.
- Open Developer Tools Settings.
- Under “Available Toolbox Buttons,” enable “Take a screenshot of the entire page.”
- Select the screenshot button in the Developer Tools toolbar. Firefox captures the full page and saves the image in Downloads.
Use the Web Console
- Open Developer Tools and select the Web Console.
- Enter
:screenshot --fullpageand press Return. Firefox captures content beyond the visible browser window.
The helper supports additional options. For example, add --filename to specify a name, --delay to wait before capture, --dpr to set device-pixel ratio, or --clipboard to copy the result. The documentation also describes --file to force file writing and --selector to capture an element and its descendants. Check the Firefox documentation for the accepted syntax and option details before combining flags.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Firefox’s default filename includes the date and time. If you capture again using a filename that already exists, the earlier image is overwritten. The documented default save location is Downloads.
Capture a selected element in Firefox
- Open the Inspector and locate the element in the HTML pane.
- Right-click its node and choose “Screenshot Node.” Firefox saves the image to Downloads.
The screenshot toolbar button can also be configured to copy the image to the clipboard.
Chrome: capture an area or a DOM element
Chrome DevTools documents selected-area and node screenshots. The cited procedures do not establish a full-page capture workflow, so use Firefox’s documented method when you need the whole page beyond the viewport.

Capture a selected area
- Open DevTools and open the Command Menu.
- Type
screenshot, then select “Capture area screenshot.” - Drag over the part of the page you want to capture.
DevTools must be docked to the browser window for area capture; Chrome’s documentation says this method does not work when DevTools is undocked. See Chrome’s Command Menu documentation.
Capture a selected DOM node
- In DevTools, select the element in the Elements panel.
- Right-click the selected node and choose “Capture node screenshot.”
Chrome’s DOM guide says the captured file is saved to Downloads. Menu labels can change between Chrome versions; the cited guide may not reflect every current interface detail. The node capture is for the selected element, not proof of a whole-page capture. See Chrome’s DOM guide and its DevTools node screenshot announcement.
Safari: enable Web Inspector, but do not assume it captures a full page
On macOS, Safari’s documented Web Inspector setup is straightforward, but the cited WebKit instructions cover enabling and opening the inspector—not a full-page screenshot sequence.

These steps enable inspection; they do not establish a Safari Developer Tools method for saving a full-page screenshot. See WebKit’s Web Inspector setup guide and keyboard shortcuts.

| Entire webpage, including content beyond the viewport | Firefox toolbar button or :screenshot --fullpage |

Troubleshooting
Firefox’s screenshot button is missing
Open Developer Tools Settings and enable “Take a screenshot of the entire page” under “Available Toolbox Buttons.”
The Firefox image replaced an earlier capture
The screenshot helper overwrites an existing file when the same filename is reused. Choose a distinct value with --filename or keep the default date-and-time filename.

Chrome’s area capture is unavailable or behaves unexpectedly
Dock DevTools to the browser window; the documented area capture does not work with DevTools undocked. Also confirm that you chose “Capture area screenshot” rather than a node screenshot, since they capture different targets.

Safari’s inspector opens, but you cannot find a documented full-page capture command
The WebKit guidance cited here establishes how to enable and open Web Inspector, not a Safari full-page screenshot workflow. Do not infer a page-capture command from the inspector shortcut.
