There is no single best choice for every page or window. Browser capture is specific to webpages; screen-level capture can apply to more kinds of visible content, but the result depends on how the app or window scrolls and how the capture tool stitches it.
Shottr: automatic or manual scrolling capture

When to try manual mode
Shottr specifically warns that automatic capture can be choppy in Terminal, VS Code, iTerm2, Apple News, Apple Music, and Catalyst apps; its documentation says manual mode works in these cases. This is an app-specific caveat, not a guarantee that every other window will stitch perfectly.

What its screen-level approach means
Shottr explains that its method captures the screen rather than using the browser’s full-page DOM access. As a result, a browser-oriented full-page tool and a Mac scrolling screenshot app can produce different results on the same webpage. Browser full-page capture versus a Mac screenshot app
A browser-specific full-page method may use webpage structure to capture beyond the visible viewport. A scrolling screenshot app instead scrolls what is visible on screen and combines screen captures. - Use browser capture when you only need a webpage and want a browser-oriented full-page result.
- Use a Mac app when you want to capture content outside the browser or prefer a system-level capture workflow.
