To capture an entire scrolling webpage in Chrome on Windows without installing an extension, use DevTools’ Capture full size screenshot command. Open the page, press F12, then Ctrl+Shift+P in DevTools, search for the command, and select it. Chrome saves an image of the full page, including content beyond the visible screen.
Capture the full webpage with Chrome DevTools
- Open the webpage in Chrome and give it time to load.
- Press F12 to open DevTools. If that shortcut is unavailable, open Chrome’s menu and choose More tools > Developer tools.
- With DevTools open, press Ctrl+Shift+P to open the Command Menu.
- Type Capture full size screenshot, then select the matching command. Chrome captures the page beyond the visible viewport.
- Look in Chrome’s download location for the image. Open it and inspect the top, middle, and bottom to make sure the content you need is present.
Chrome documents the Command Menu as a way to run DevTools commands, and its device-mode documentation identifies the full-size screenshot command for content outside the viewport. Menu wording and behavior can vary between Chrome versions. Chrome DevTools Command Menu · Chrome device mode.
Choose the right capture method

When a full-page screenshot misses content
Lazy-loaded or changing pages
Some pages load images or other content only as you scroll. Scroll through the page first, wait for content to settle, then capture again. This may help, but it cannot guarantee a complete image on every dynamic or virtualized page. Inspect the result rather than assuming the capture includes everything.
Content in an independently scrolling panel
A full-page capture targets the document, which is different from capturing all the content inside a separate scrollable panel. Check whether the panel’s desired content appears in the result. If it does not, the whole-document command may not match what you need.

PDF viewers and custom scrolling
GoFullPage’s FAQ says its extension cannot capture some PDF documents and pages where custom JavaScript controls scrolling. These are reasons to verify the output and try another approach when necessary—not proof that Chrome DevTools has the same limitation on every page. See GoFullPage’s FAQ.
