What StreamVoodoo does—and what it does not establish
StreamVoodoo describes rooms for connecting video sources and routing feeds to production tools such as OBS or vMix. Its FAQ also describes Magic Links as video-with-audio outputs that can be added as browser sources in OBS or vMix, and a route for sending playback with audio into a room through an OBS virtual camera or NDI output. These are production and source-routing capabilities, not evidence of a built-in playlist scheduler or server-side 24/7 loop. StreamVoodoo FAQ
The practical setup therefore has distinct parts: a playback source supplies the playlist, StreamVoodoo can participate in routing that source, an encoder sends the program to YouTube, and YouTube hosts the live stream. Before relying on it unattended, confirm that the playback or hosting component—not merely the room or routing link—can repeat the playlist, stay available, and restart after an interruption. The available StreamVoodoo documentation does not establish those behaviors or rule out custom arrangements.
How to run a 24/7 YouTube playlist
1. Check YouTube live-stream eligibility
YouTube Help says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the past 90 days; creators must be at least 16 to live stream. YouTube also says a live-stream restriction can prevent streaming for 14 days, and using another channel to evade an active restriction is prohibited. Check the current YouTube live-streaming restrictions and eligibility before setup.

2. Prepare the playlist and playback system
Use only video and audio you own or are authorized to stream. Confirm your playback application or hosting system can play the full playlist in a loop without manual intervention. Test what happens at the end of the playlist, when a file is missing or unplayable, and after the playback process or machine restarts.
StreamVoodoo’s terms dated 2022 place responsibility for rights and consent in submitted content on the user and prohibit infringing material. Because those terms are dated, consult the agreement currently presented by StreamVoodoo rather than treating the 2022 wording as necessarily current. StreamVoodoo terms

3. Route the media through StreamVoodoo only if your production needs it
Choose one route appropriate to your setup; the documented approaches do not imply that every stream needs both:
- Playback into a room: StreamVoodoo’s FAQ describes feeding media with audio into a room through an OBS virtual camera or an NDI output.
- Room output into a production tool: The FAQ describes Magic Links as video-with-audio outputs that can be added as browser sources in OBS or vMix.
These paths can help connect sources and production tools. They do not, by themselves, demonstrate that StreamVoodoo will schedule or loop your playlist, keep a local playback computer awake, or recover an unattended broadcast. For StreamVoodoo’s documented routing options, see its FAQ.

4. Create the YouTube stream and configure your encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create a live stream, or select the scheduled stream you intend to use. Follow YouTube’s current setup flow; labels can change.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. Enter both in the encoder that receives the finished playlist output. YouTube Help states: “To start streaming, enter your YouTube Live server URL and stream key into your encoder.” See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password: do not show it in screenshots, recordings, or public messages. If exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Start the encoder and verify the incoming preview. For a scheduled broadcast, YouTube’s instructions say to wait for the preview and then select Go live. Starting the encoder alone may not publish the scheduled stream.
- Check the public watch page. Confirm that viewers can see and hear the intended video, that the playlist advances, and that the broadcast is on the expected channel before leaving the setup.
YouTube’s encoder instructions distinguish software and hardware encoders and give devices such as a webcam, microphone, and headset as examples in common live setups. Those examples are not required purchases for a prerecorded playlist: choose equipment based on your actual production chain.
5. Test unattended operation before calling it 24/7
Run a meaningful test that includes a playlist boundary and a planned interruption. Verify that the playlist repeats, the encoder remains connected, and the system recovers as expected. Document which component is responsible for restarting playback and reconnecting to YouTube. The sources reviewed do not establish that StreamVoodoo automatically loops or restarts a stream, so do not assume those functions are provided by its routing features.

YouTube limits, archives, and content rules
- Live policies apply throughout the broadcast. YouTube says live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; it may restrict or remove streams. See YouTube’s live-streaming policy and eligibility guidance.
- Active-stream caps: YouTube Help gives limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These are YouTube limits, not StreamVoodoo room-connection limits. Check the current help page if your channel needs multiple concurrent broadcasts.
- Archive qualification: YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not guarantee a complete archive for a continuous stream longer than 12 hours. If the recording matters, plan a separate recording and verify the resulting archive rather than assuming a full 24/7 stream will be preserved. See YouTube’s encoder guidance.
- Rights and reused material: Having permission to use a song or video is essential, but it does not guarantee that a channel or stream will meet every YouTube policy or monetization requirement. Review YouTube’s current policies and make sure the playlist has a legitimate rights basis; do not treat continuous repetition as a way around copyright or content rules.
When this setup is—and is not—a fit
StreamVoodoo’s documented routing is relevant when you need rooms, source connections, or outputs for a production chain. It is not enough evidence to choose it as a standalone unattended playlist broadcaster. Decide who or what handles playback, encoding, reconnection, and monitoring before committing to a continuous stream.
- Local playback and encoding: You control the files and software, but the machine, power, network, and encoder must remain available. Establish a restart and monitoring plan.
- StreamVoodoo routing: Use it for the documented source-to-production workflow where useful; independently verify looping and recovery elsewhere in the chain.
- Cloud playback: A service designed to play uploaded video continuously can remove the need to leave a home computer running. Confirm supported destination, media requirements, recovery behavior, and pricing before relying on it.
