If you instead need a snapshot of the webpage currently on screen, use your browser’s Print to PDF feature. These are different files: a browser printout may not match the downloadable passbook statement or include interactive and off-screen content.
Choose the right PDF method

EPFO’s FAQ and older UAN Member Portal manual describe the passbook PDF route. Their instructions are historical, so the current portal’s labels or layout may differ. EPFO Member FAQ and EPFO UAN Member Portal User Manual v1.1 document the steps.
Download the official EPFO passbook PDF
- Open the official EPFO Member Passbook portal. Check that the address belongs to the epfindia.gov.in service before entering credentials.
- Sign in using your UAN and password. Do not share your UAN or password with someone offering to download the file for you.
- Look for the passbook download option. EPFO’s FAQ documents the sequence Download > Download Passbook, followed by the PDF link. The older UAN Member Portal manual also describes a Download Passbook control.
- Open or save the PDF, then check that it is the passbook record you intended to keep.
The current portal may not use the same labels as the legacy instructions. If the control is unavailable, try again later or use the service channel EPFO currently indicates, such as UMANG. EPFO’s Member Home has displayed a temporary migration-stabilization notice advising members to avoid repeated access attempts during peak hours; check the portal for current service notices rather than assuming a fixed outage duration.
Save the displayed webpage as a PDF in Chrome
On a computer
- Open the page you want to preserve in Chrome.
- Open the print dialog with Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. Google documents these shortcuts in its Chrome keyboard shortcuts.
- Choose an available PDF destination in the print dialog, inspect the preview, and save the file. The destination name and options can vary by operating system.

On Android
- In Chrome, open the page and tap More > Share > Print.
- Choose Save as PDF, select a storage location, and save.
Google documents this route in Print from Chrome — Android. Other browsers and operating systems can have different menu labels.
Keep the file safely
- Use a descriptive filename, such as EPF-passbook-2026-10-04.pdf, if that date matches when you saved it.
- Store it somewhere private, especially if the device is shared. A passbook contains personal financial information.
- Avoid uploading or sending the file casually. Do not post a passbook, UAN, OTP, Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, or password in a public forum or to an unverified helper.
The EPFO Passbook login page warns: “Please never respond to any call for sharing any personal details like Aadhaar, PAN, Bank details, OTP or request for any payment.” It also says EPFO never calls members or pensioners to deposit an amount. Read the warning on the EPFO portal.
Or skip the browser setup

Troubleshooting
The passbook download option is missing
The documented FAQ and manual are older and current menu labels can differ. Check the official portal and its service notices, or use the officially indicated UMANG channel. Do not rely on an unofficial site asking for your login details.

The portal is slow or unavailable
EPFO’s Member Home has displayed migration-related stabilization guidance. Avoid repeated attempts during a stated peak-hour disruption, try later, or check the officially indicated alternative access channel. No specific restoration time is guaranteed.
The printed PDF is incomplete or looks different
Print to PDF records a rendered webpage, not necessarily the official passbook statement. Review the print preview; if you need the EPFO record, use the portal’s passbook PDF control instead.
You received a call asking for an OTP or payment
Do not provide it. EPFO’s passbook page warns against sharing personal details or responding to payment requests by phone.
