You can investigate a YouTube video loop that stutters or drops by checking Live Control Room stream health, comparing it with your encoder’s output, testing the outbound connection, and running MyJio diagnostics. These checks can help narrow down whether the symptoms point to the encoder, home Wi-Fi/router, internet connection, or an individual viewer—but neither YouTube nor the Jio guidance described here provides a direct raw packet-loss meter. A warning or dropped frame alone does not prove packet loss or that JioFiber is responsible.

What to check first

Start with YouTube Live Control Room, then compare what it reports with the encoder and local recording. If the encoder appears healthy, test the outbound connection and check JioFiber through MyJio. Keep the same encoder settings while comparing results so that a change in symptoms is meaningful.

  1. Record the symptom: note the exact Live Control Room health message and timestamp, how long the interruption lasts, the encoder’s displayed status, and whether the encoder’s local output or archive is affected.
  2. Check encoder output: inspect how the stream looks and sounds in the encoder. If quality is poor there too, check CPU load and the local archive, update the encoder, or try another encoder as appropriate.
  3. Check the outbound connection: if the encoder output is healthy, run an internet speed test and compare upload capacity with the configured stream bitrate.
  4. Check JioFiber and Wi-Fi: run MyJio diagnostics. If practical, repeat the same test with the streaming computer connected to the router by Ethernet rather than Wi-Fi.
  5. Compare reports: distinguish a problem seen by one viewer from trouble reported by multiple viewers on separate connections.

YouTube’s Live Control Room displays stream-health errors with timestamps and instructions. Red errors are critical; yellow errors indicate moderate issues. Record the message and time before changing settings so you can compare the next result.

Check your YouTube encoder settings and upload capacity

YouTube documents RTMP and RTMPS ingestion, recommends constant bitrate (CBR) encoding, and recommends a two-second keyframe interval that does not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Use YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance as the reference for supported settings.

H.264 output YouTube-recommended video bitrate
720p at 30 fps 8 Mbps
720p at 60 fps 8 Mbps
1080p at 30 fps 14 Mbps
1080p at 60 fps 17 Mbps

These figures are YouTube encoder-setting recommendations, not JioFiber upload guarantees or measurements of your line. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate, testing before going live, and monitoring stream health during the event. Choose a quality your connection can reliably support; if available bandwidth is inadequate for the selected resolution, lower the resolution. A speed-test result is a snapshot, not proof that the connection stays stable for the whole loop.

Separate encoder, connection, and viewer symptoms

YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance distinguishes encoder problems from outbound-connection problems and viewer-specific playback problems. If the stream looks and sounds poor in the encoder, inspect CPU load and the local archive, update the encoder, and consider another encoder. If encoder output is healthy, test the outbound internet connection; YouTube advises contacting the ISP if that test finds a connection problem.

  • Only one viewer reports trouble: YouTube says the issue is likely with that viewer’s computer or internet connection. This does not establish a broadcaster-side packet-loss problem.
  • Multiple viewers on different connections report trouble: YouTube says the encoder may be the issue. Check the encoder output and its load before blaming the uplink.
  • The encoder looks healthy but stream health or delivery has trouble: investigate the outbound connection and JioFiber/Wi-Fi conditions, while keeping the timestamps and test results.

A prerecorded loop still reaches YouTube through a live encoder and network path. The official troubleshooting guidance does not specify a separate packet-loss diagnostic just for prerecorded loops, so apply the general live-stream checks.

Run JioFiber diagnostics in MyJio

  1. Link your JioFiber account in the MyJio app.
  2. Open Home, select JioCare, then choose Run Diagnostics.
  3. Review the findings and follow any on-screen troubleshooting steps.

Jio describes Run Diagnostics as checking network health, router status, Wi-Fi strength, and device connectivity. It may flag weak Wi-Fi, an offline router, loose cables, speed drops, or configuration errors. See Jio’s Run Diagnostics FAQ for its diagnostic flow.

If feasible, compare the same encoder settings over Wi-Fi and Ethernet. A better wired result can point toward the home wireless segment as a factor, but it does not identify where any upstream loss occurs or prove that packet loss was present.

Interpret the results without overcalling packet loss

Stream-health warnings, encoder issues, viewer playback complaints, and raw packet loss are different kinds of evidence. The official YouTube guidance describes stream-health errors, encoder settings, upload testing, and general troubleshooting, but not a Live Control Room raw-packet-loss counter. The cited Jio guidance describes network, router, Wi-Fi, device, speed-drop, and configuration checks, but does not specify a customer-facing packet-loss measurement.

Accordingly, describe what you observed—such as a timestamped health error, poor encoder output, a speed-test result, or a MyJio warning—instead of calling every dropped frame or warning “packet loss.” One symptom by itself does not establish that JioFiber caused the problem.
