Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf your YouTube Live stream stops showing playlist content after its first block, check the software sending the live video before changing YouTube’s schedule. YouTube Live Control Room handles the broadcast event and encoder connection; the encoder or media source handles playback and looping. If you use OBS, enable Loop Playlist on a VLC Video source containing multiple files, or Loop on a Media Source containing one file. Then check whether the source and outgoing feed continue at the block boundary.
First identify what stopped
A scheduled YouTube broadcast and the media being sent into it are separate parts of the setup. YouTube’s instructions cover scheduling a stream and connecting an encoder with a stream URL and stream key; they do not describe a Studio setting that automatically rotates scheduled playlist blocks. The likely place to fix rotation is the source or encoder creating the feed, though the exact cause depends on your software and setup. See YouTube’s stream setup instructions and encoder help.
- At the point where the first block ends, check whether the media source continues playing.
- Check whether the encoder continues sending video and audio.
- Check Live Control Room’s preview and stream status. YouTube recommends monitoring stream quality during a broadcast.
If the source stops, troubleshoot its playlist or loop settings. If the source keeps playing and the encoder remains connected but the YouTube broadcast ends, inspect the broadcast and encoder connection in Live Control Room instead. The OBS steps below apply only if OBS is your source software.
Fix looping in OBS
For an ordered playlist of multiple files
- In OBS, select the scene used for the live output and open the properties for its VLC Video source.
- Verify that all intended files are in the source playlist and in the sequence you want.
- Enable Loop Playlist. OBS describes this option as restarting the source after it has run out of media files. See OBS Project’s Media Sources documentation.
- Confirm the source is active and visible in the output scene. Review its visibility behavior: OBS documents options that stop playback when a VLC source is not visible and restart it when visible, so a scene change can affect playback.
- Watch the source and outgoing feed through the end of the block to confirm the next file begins and the encoder stays live.
For a single local file
- Open the properties for the OBS Media Source containing the file.
- Enable Loop, which repeats that individual file after playback completes. This is a different control from VLC Video’s Loop Playlist.
- Check the active scene and observe playback through the file’s end.
If VLC Video is unavailable, OBS notes that VLC must be installed; for 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC. File count and intended sequence help determine which source is appropriate: Media Source with Loop for one file, or VLC Video with Loop Playlist for multiple files.

Do not confuse source looping with YouTube playback controls
- Watch-page playlist loop: YouTube’s Loop control in a playlist box affects a viewer’s playback. It does not configure the playlist playing into a live encoder feed. See YouTube’s playlist help.
- Scheduled live stream: Scheduling creates a broadcast event; it does not, according to the cited setup documentation, establish automatic rotation of a source playlist.
- Automatic archive: YouTube says encoder-created streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after ending. That describes what happens after a stream ends, not a restart or playlist-rotation feature.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want an uploaded-video stream to keep running without a computer or OBS at home, StreamNeo runs the loop from the cloud. The setup is: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube, not a live camera feed.
