After navigation and any page actions that affect the content or styles, await document.fonts.ready inside page.evaluate(), then call page.screenshot(). This makes Puppeteer wait for the page’s font-readiness promise instead of relying on a fixed sleep.
Wait for fonts before capturing
Use this sequence in your Puppeteer script:
await page.evaluate(() => document.fonts.ready);
await page.screenshot({ path: 'page.png' });document is part of the browser page, so access it in the page context through page.evaluate(). Puppeteer waits for the promise returned by the page function before continuing. Put the wait after navigation and after any actions that determine what the page displays, immediately before the screenshot. See the Puppeteer JavaScript execution guide and Page.screenshot() API.

Here is a runnable Node.js example using Puppeteer’s standard browser launch, navigation and screenshot calls:

What the font wait does—and does not do
The call waits for the promise represented by document.fonts.ready to resolve. It avoids guessing how long fonts will take with a hard-coded delay. It is not a guarantee that the page will remain visually unchanged afterward: scripts, late content, animations or other page activity may still affect the rendered result.
Puppeteer’s screenshot guide shows navigation with waitUntil: 'networkidle2' as one possible setup, but network idleness is not a replacement for explicitly waiting for font readiness when fonts are the concern. A page can be network-idle without that being the font-readiness check you intend. See the Puppeteer screenshots guide.

Screenshot versus PDF font waiting
Puppeteer documents waitForFonts as an option for PDF generation, not as a screenshot option. For a screenshot, explicitly await the page’s font promise before calling page.screenshot().

Troubleshooting
- The screenshot still shows a fallback font: Confirm that the wait is after navigation and any action that changes the page’s styles or content, and that it is inside
page.evaluate(). Then check the page’s own font loading and styling; awaiting the promise does not guarantee later visual stability. documentis undefined: The expression is likely running in Node.js rather than in the page. Return the font promise frompage.evaluate()as shown above.waitForFontshas no effect on a screenshot: That option is forpage.pdf(). Use the explicitdocument.fonts.readywait for screenshots.- A network-idle wait did not solve the font issue: Network idleness and font readiness are different checks. Keep the explicit font wait before capture.
