For a compatibility-first 720p30 YouTube Live stream, start with H.264 video at 1280×720 progressive, 30 fps and 8 Mbps CBR; AAC stereo audio at 128 kbps; and a two-second keyframe interval. Aim for about 10.2 Mbps of consistently available upload capacity before protocol overhead, based on YouTube’s recommendation to leave 20% headroom. Airtel’s advertised plan speed is not a guarantee of the upload speed you will get during a broadcast, so test your actual connection and the Marathi loop before going public.
Recommended YouTube Live settings for 720p30
Use these as a starting profile for a pre-recorded Marathi video loop. YouTube’s live encoder guidance specifies different bitrate recommendations by codec; the H.264 values below are the straightforward compatibility-first choice. These are live ingestion settings, not recommendations for uploading a finished video file.

| Setting | Starting value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution and scan | 1280×720, progressive | Use square pixels. |
| Frame rate | 30 fps | Keep the encoder output at 30 fps for this profile. |
| Video codec | H.264 | A compatibility-first choice. YouTube’s live table also lists AV1/H.265. |
| Video bitrate control | CBR | Constant bitrate is the recommended starting mode. |
| Video bitrate | 8 Mbps recommended; 3 Mbps minimum | YouTube’s current live encoder table gives these H.264 values for 720p at 30 fps. [YouTube Help] |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | At 30 fps, this equals one keyframe every 60 frames. YouTube says not to exceed four seconds. |
| Audio codec and bitrate | AAC stereo, 128 kbps | YouTube lists AAC or MP3; 128 kbps is its stereo recommendation. |
| Audio sample rate | 44.1 kHz | YouTube’s stated stereo sample rate. |
| Color and bit depth | Rec. 709, 8-bit for SDR | Use progressive scan and square pixels as well. |
| Ingest protocol | RTMPS | Use it when your encoder supports it. |
YouTube lists AV1/H.265 at 6 Mbps recommended and 2 Mbps minimum for 720p30. Choose that alternative only if your encoder supports it reliably; otherwise use H.264. The codec-specific live recommendations and minimums are in YouTube’s encoder settings guidance.
How much Airtel upload speed do you need?
The 8 Mbps video plus 128 kbps audio profile produces an encoded stream of about 8.13 Mbps, before protocol overhead. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload headroom. Applying that margin gives a practical target of about 10.2 Mbps of consistently available upload capacity. This is a calculation from YouTube’s guidance, not a guaranteed threshold for every encoder or connection.

Measure upload performance where and when you will stream, with the streaming computer and network setup in use. Upload bandwidth can be lower than download bandwidth, and other people or devices sharing the connection can reduce what is available to the encoder. Leave more margin if the household or workplace is using the connection. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
What Airtel’s plan speed does—and does not—tell you
Airtel’s broadband listings describe speeds as “up to” values and say actual speed varies with the subscribed tariff. Its current ₹999 fiber plan page lists up to 100 Mbps upload and download, with availability varying by location. That is an advertised plan maximum, not proof of the speed a particular subscriber will sustain during a live stream. Check the plan attached to your account and test at the encoder location. Set up and test the Marathi loop
- Configure the encoder. Set 1280×720 progressive at 30 fps, H.264, CBR at 8 Mbps, AAC stereo at 128 kbps, a two-second keyframe interval, and RTMPS if supported. Set SDR color to Rec. 709 and 8-bit, with square pixels.
- Use the correct YouTube stream key. In YouTube Studio, open the scheduled or created live stream and copy its stream key into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it. The precise menu labels can change, so use the live control room for the stream you intend to run.
- Test privately or as unlisted first. Start the encoder and check that YouTube receives a 720p30 signal. Confirm Marathi audio is clear, continuous and synchronized with the picture; review stream-health messages in YouTube Studio before making the broadcast public.
- Check the whole loop. Test audio and movement similar to what viewers will encounter, including transitions, silence, and the point where the video restarts. A static image may need less data than fast motion, but do not lower the bitrate just because the loop appears visually simple; assess the actual stream.
- Monitor during the broadcast. Watch YouTube’s stream-health status and respond to warnings. A plan’s advertised maximum does not ensure an uninterrupted stream.
YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the planned event and checking stream health. Its live encoder guidance and streaming tips explain the relevant settings and network considerations.
Copyright and looping a Marathi video
The language of the narration or song does not change the encoder profile. But a video being pre-recorded or looped does not by itself establish that you have the rights to broadcast its audio and visuals. Use content you own or have permission to livestream, and check that any music, performance, footage, images, and other embedded material are covered by the relevant rights. A private or unlisted technical test checks delivery; it does not establish permission to use copyrighted material. YouTube may apply its copyright rules to live content, so review the platform’s current guidance and any notices in Studio before and during the event.
If your upload capacity is not enough
If the measured, consistently available upload capacity cannot sustain the target with headroom, do not set the stream to consume all of the measured bandwidth. YouTube advises leaving 20% headroom. Reduce the bitrate or resolution, then repeat the private or unlisted test and check stream health. If you use AV1/H.265, YouTube’s listed 720p30 recommendation is 6 Mbps, with a 2 Mbps minimum; encoder support and reliability still matter. A lower setting is a compromise to test, not a guarantee that a congested or unstable connection will hold.
Common problems and fixes
- YouTube reports unstable or insufficient bitrate: Check actual upload performance rather than download speed or the plan label, account for shared network use, and preserve headroom. Lower bitrate or resolution and retest if needed.
- Keyframe warning: Set the interval to two seconds (60 frames at 30 fps) and ensure it does not exceed four seconds.
- Audio is unclear, missing or out of sync: Confirm the encoder is sending AAC stereo at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz, then test the actual loop from beginning to end, including its restart.
- The picture is not 720p30: Verify the encoder’s output resolution and frame rate, then confirm the received signal in YouTube Studio. Ensure the source and encoder are configured for the intended output.
- The stream drops when other devices are active: Shared network use may be cutting into available upload capacity. Reduce competing use during the broadcast, retest, and consider a wired Ethernet connection if practical. Ethernet is a setup option, not a YouTube requirement.
- YouTube shows stream-health warnings despite a fast Airtel plan: Advertised “up to” speed is not a measurement of sustained performance at broadcast time. Test from the encoder’s location and respond to the specific Studio warning.
