For a different take, Hitman: World of Assassination offers open-ended assassination missions, while Deus Ex: Mankind Divided lets you choose between stealth and force. These five picks share some of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell’s appeal, but they differ in how much stealth they expect, how missions work, and what kind of story they tell.
Ubisoft frames Splinter Cell as cinematic stealth action starring covert agent Sam Fisher. “Like Splinter Cell” can mean that spy-and-infiltration fantasy, stealth-action mechanics, freedom to plan a mission, or simply an adventure where staying unseen matters. The recommendations below identify which kind of match each game provides.

1. METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER
This is the closest pick if what you want is a covert operative moving through hostile territory. Konami describes it as a “survival stealth action experience”: Naked Snake infiltrates Soviet territory during the Cold War, giving the game a similar emphasis on infiltration while putting it in a jungle setting with a survival focus.

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 (2004). Konami’s European English page lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Steam, and gives 28 August 2025 as its release date. Check the listing for your region and platform before purchasing.
2. Hitman: World of Assassination
Choose this if your favorite part of stealth games is studying a place, planning a route, and trying different ways to reach a target. PlayStation describes the trilogy as a freeform sandbox stealth experience based on guile, deception, and sometimes brute force. Disguises and opportunities to experiment make mission planning central to its appeal.

It is not a Sam Fisher-style covert-action thriller: its focus is social stealth and assassination. The sandbox structure makes it a strong alternative for players who value choice and replaying missions more than matching Splinter Cell’s agent fantasy.
3. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the science-fiction option for players who want stealth to be a choice rather than the only way forward. PlayStation’s description highlights stealth and non-lethal equipment as well as deadly force, with weapons and augmentations available to customize.
That flexibility is the point of comparison—not a claim that its camera, pacing, or mechanics duplicate Splinter Cell. Pick it if you want to decide how to handle a mission and are happy to trade a spy-thriller setting for science fiction.
4. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
For players who enjoy plotting a route and coordinating a team more than controlling one action hero, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun takes stealth into strategy-game territory. Its sandbox maps ask you to combine characters’ abilities, set traps, poison opponents, or avoid contact.

The change in perspective and tempo is substantial: this is a strategy game, not a conventional third-person stealth-action game. It fits best when careful planning and coordinated infiltration matter more to you than direct action.
