You usually do not pay YouTube for a “live streaming server.” YouTube Live provides a server URL and stream key for an encoder to send a broadcast to your channel. If you mean Google Cloud’s separate, paid Live Stream API, eligible Google Cloud customers in India can use UPI for billing—but eligibility and setup requirements apply.
First, identify what you mean by a YouTube live streaming server
YouTube Live’s encoder connection is not a paid server rental
YouTube’s standard live workflow is to create a live stream in YouTube Studio, then enter the server URL and stream key in compatible streaming software or hardware. YouTube Help describes the connection this way: “To start streaming, enter your YouTube Live server URL and stream key into your encoder.” YouTube’s encoder instructions explain that workflow; they do not describe paying YouTube for the ingestion endpoint.
Google Cloud Live Stream API is a separate paid service
If you need cloud-based live encoding and streaming rather than simply sending an encoder feed to YouTube, Google Cloud’s Live Stream API is a distinct service. It is billed on demand, with charges affected by active channel time and input and output resolution. UPI instructions for Google Cloud billing apply to this service’s eligible billing account, not to YouTube’s stream URL or key.
Can you pay a Google Cloud bill with UPI?
Google says qualified organizations in India can use Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for manual payments or monthly recurring payments. To use it, Google’s guidance requires an Indian billing address and bank account, billing in INR, and a configured, registered UPI account with a financial institution. Google does not guarantee that every Indian billing account qualifies.

Google’s setup guidance says an initial prepayment is typically INR 500 to INR 1,000 before adding UPI. This is a billing setup prepayment, not the price of the Live Stream API. Google refers to a UPI app generically; it does not promise that every account can pay through the Google Pay app specifically. Use the UPI option offered in your eligible Cloud Billing account and follow the app prompt. See Google Cloud’s UPI payment requirements for current eligibility details.
How to make a manual UPI payment in Cloud Billing

Sign in to the Google Cloud account associated with the billing account and open the Cloud Billing console.

Open the billing account’s Payment overview and choose “Make a payment” or “Pay early.” The available wording can depend on the account and billing state.

Select “Pay with UPI,” enter the payment amount, review the details, and continue to display the QR code.

Open a UPI-enabled payment app, scan the QR code, and complete the payment by following the app’s instructions.
Google’s documented manual-payment process is described on its UPI payments page. If your account does not show the UPI option, check the account’s billing country, currency, payment profile, and eligibility rather than assuming the YouTube stream itself needs a payment.

How to set UPI as a recurring payment method

In Cloud Billing, add UPI as a payment method and select it as the primary method for the billing account.

Scan the QR code shown in the setup flow using a UPI-enabled app.

Approve the UPI mandate in that app, then follow the Cloud Billing page to complete setup.

Recurring payments depend on the mandate approval flow and account eligibility; adding UPI does not make it universally available to every customer. Follow the current steps shown in Google’s UPI instructions.
If you receive an invoice, use its payment instructions
For invoiced Google Cloud accounts in India, Google documents a separate method: the PDF invoice includes a UPI QR code that can be scanned with a UPI-enabled application. Scan the code and follow the remittance details on that invoice. See Google’s invoice payment guidance.

The Live Stream API is usage-billed, not a flat fee for a YouTube stream URL. Google’s pricing information says charges depend on active channel time and input and output resolution. An active channel can incur charges even when it has no input stream. The documented minimum active-channel charge is ten minutes; after that, duration is rounded up to the nearest minute. Check the current Live Stream API pricing page and estimate using your planned configuration and runtime. Your actual total cannot be calculated without those details.

What you need for an ordinary YouTube Live broadcast
If your goal is simply to broadcast to YouTube, you need a compatible software or hardware encoder and the server URL and stream key shown for your live stream in YouTube Studio. A dedicated hardware encoder is optional; YouTube lists the AJA HELO Plus as one hardware option in its encoder guidance. It is not a prerequisite for UPI, Google Cloud billing, or connecting to YouTube Live.
