That duplicates one program; it does not automatically create two different streams with separate visuals or audio.
First, decide what “two streams” means
There are two distinct goals:
- Same program twice: Both YouTube events receive the same OBS picture and sound. Multiple RTMP Outputs is intended to send an output to multiple RTMP destinations.
- Two independent programs: Each event has its own visuals, scene changes, or audio. The available evidence does not establish that the plugin can isolate those outputs in current versions. Do not assume that adding two destinations gives you two independently controlled productions.
A user report described a scene change affecting both destinations. That is a cautionary example, not proof of how every current plugin version behaves. If separate programming matters, confirm current per-output scene and audio routing support, then test the exact setup privately before relying on it.
Check YouTube’s limits and the plugin compatibility
YouTube’s concurrent-stream limits
YouTube’s current help page, accessed October 3, 2026, allows up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 active streams per stream key, concurrently. Both limits apply, so staying under one does not override the other. If a limit is reached, another stream cannot be started. Check YouTube’s live-streaming guidance before scheduling.
OBS and Multiple RTMP Outputs
The OBS compatibility table found for Multiple RTMP Outputs lists Windows, Intel macOS, and Apple macOS for OBS Studio 28. It was published on August 31, 2022, and does not establish compatibility with current OBS builds. The plugin’s ability to send output to several ingest endpoints is described in OBS community guidance, rather than confirmed here by current official plugin documentation.

Before installing or updating, check the plugin’s current release information for your operating system and exact OBS version. If you cannot confirm compatibility, do not make the plugin the basis of a scheduled broadcast without a test.
Set up two YouTube events with the same OBS program
- Create two live events. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule a separate event for each destination.
- Record each destination’s server and key. For each event, note its stream URL and stream key. YouTube describes stream keys as a stream’s “password and address.” Treat them as credentials: do not publish or share them, and reset a compromised key. YouTube says only a channel owner or manager can reset one. See YouTube’s stream-key guidance.
- Install and open Multiple RTMP Outputs. Do this only after checking that the current plugin version supports your OBS build and operating system. The compatibility evidence available for OBS 28 is dated and should not be treated as confirmation for a newer build.
- Add two output destinations. Configure one destination for each YouTube event, entering the corresponding server URL and stream key. Check carefully that each key is paired with the right event.
- Start the outputs and verify both previews. In YouTube Studio, confirm that each event receives the intended picture and sound and that its stream health is acceptable. Use each Live Control Room’s preview and Go live workflow as appropriate; starting an encoder feed and making an event public are distinct parts of the workflow.
- Test before the real broadcast. Use a private or unlisted test where suitable. Confirm both destinations, audio, visuals, and stability, especially if you intend to change scenes or use different audio.
Plan bitrate and upload capacity
There is no reliable universal upload-speed figure for an unspecified computer, connection, codec, resolution, frame rate, and number of outputs. YouTube publishes recommended bitrate ranges by codec, resolution, and frame rate; choose the applicable settings from its encoder settings guidance and test the actual setup.

Check the bitrate configured for each output and the total load the setup must carry. Leave capacity for normal network variation rather than planning at the connection’s theoretical maximum. Also check that the computer can encode the chosen settings without dropping frames. A successful single-output test does not establish that two concurrent outputs will work reliably on your machine or connection.
If you want different visuals or audio
Multiple destinations do not by themselves demonstrate independent OBS productions. Current per-output scene and audio isolation support is not established by the sources available here. Before building the workflow around that capability:

- Check current documentation for the exact OBS and plugin versions you plan to use.
- Run a private or unlisted broadcast to both destinations.
- Change scenes and audio deliberately during the test, then inspect and listen to each event separately.
- Do not schedule a public broadcast until each output behaves as intended.
If your goal is one event that viewers can watch in horizontal or vertical format, YouTube’s dual-format feature may be a better fit. It provides two viewing formats for one stream with a shared URL and live chat; it is not two independently programmed relaxation events. See YouTube’s dual-format streaming information.
Common problems and what to check
- One event receives no signal: Recheck that its stream URL and key belong to that event, then confirm the correct output is enabled and started in the plugin.
- YouTube will not start another stream: Check whether the channel already has 10 active streams or the key has 3. YouTube applies both concurrent limits.
- Both destinations show the same scene or audio: That is expected when duplicating one OBS program. For separate programming, verify per-output isolation support and test; do not assume it from the number of destinations configured.
- Stream health is poor or frames drop: Compare the selected codec, resolution, and frame rate with YouTube’s bitrate recommendations. Test the total encoder and upload load with both destinations active.
- The plugin is missing or fails after an OBS update: Recheck current plugin compatibility for the exact OBS version and operating system. The OBS 28 compatibility listing from 2022 does not settle current compatibility.
- A key may have been exposed: Reset it in YouTube Studio if you are a channel owner or manager, then update the matching plugin destination.
