To stream a prerecorded Malayalam yoga nidra video on YouTube Live, create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, add the video to an OBS Studio Media Source, enable Loop, then send the stream to YouTube using its stream URL and key. Check that you have the rights to broadcast the video and audio, test the stream, and monitor YouTube’s stream-health messages while it runs.
Can I stream a prerecorded video as a YouTube Live broadcast?
Yes. An encoder such as OBS can send a local video file to YouTube as a live feed. YouTube receives the encoder’s output; it does not treat the file as a normal camera broadcast. For one video, OBS’s Media Source can restart the file when playback ends. For a sequence of videos, OBS also provides a VLC Video source with a playlist loop option.
This workflow has no special Malayalam-language setting. The important details are the same as for other YouTube Live streams: channel eligibility, a working encoder connection, clear audio and picture, and the necessary content rights.

Confirm live streaming is enabled
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days to live stream. The minimum age to live stream is 16. Initial live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips and its encoder setup instructions.

Make sure the stream and any replay are covered
Use a recording, visuals, and audio that you own or have permission to use for the live broadcast and any archive you keep. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can trigger a warning or placeholder, interrupt the broadcast, or lead to termination. Even licensed content may be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. A Content ID claim may also appear after an archived stream ends. Check that a music license covers live streaming, relevant territories, and the replay separately; permission for one use does not automatically establish permission for the others. How do I stream a looping video on YouTube Live?
- Prepare the video. Save the rights-cleared Malayalam yoga nidra recording on the computer that will run OBS. Play it once locally and check that the narration, music, and ending are as intended. Decide whether you are looping one file or playing several files in sequence.
- Create or schedule the encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow. YouTube provides a stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private: it functions like a password for sending video to your channel. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Add the video in OBS. In OBS, add a Media Source, select the local video file, and enable Loop. OBS documents this setting in its Media Sources guide. For several files, add a VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist; VLC must be installed for that source type to be available.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Enter YouTube’s stream URL and stream key in OBS’s streaming settings. Use the RTMPS option YouTube recommends for the standard encoder workflow. YouTube also supports HLS for some encoder workflows, but says HLS has higher latency; this yoga nidra use case has no stated HDR requirement that calls for an alternative workflow.
- Preview before going live. Start the encoder and check the preview in Live Control Room before taking the event live. Confirm the image fills the intended frame, the narration and music are audible, and there is no unexpected silence or cutoff where the file repeats.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Once the preview is correct, take the event live in YouTube Studio. Watch stream health and its messages during the broadcast. YouTube recommends testing beforehand with audio and movement similar to the planned stream. Its encoder settings guidance and streaming tips cover setup and monitoring.
- End the broadcast and review the replay. Stop sending from OBS when you are ready to end. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Review the replay and its rights or claims status before sharing it as an on-demand video.
How do I loop a video in OBS?
One video file
Use a Media Source when the same yoga nidra session should repeat. Select the file and enable Loop in the source properties. Check the transition from the end of the recording back to its beginning: a long pause, abrupt audio cutoff, or mismatched image can repeat throughout the broadcast.

Several files in sequence
Use OBS’s VLC Video source when you want multiple recordings to play in order. Install VLC so the source is available, add the files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. Preview the sequence and its final-to-first transition before streaming.

Choose stream settings your upload connection can sustain
Use YouTube’s current encoder table to choose a resolution and bitrate appropriate to your video and connection rather than assuming a higher setting is always better. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Its streaming tips recommend leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom. Measure your real upload speed and leave that margin so other network traffic or normal fluctuations do not consume the entire connection. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions and streaming tips for the current recommendations.
Test the exact scene, audio, and motion you plan to broadcast. A static or slowly moving meditation video still needs stable video delivery and audible narration; check both in the YouTube preview and keep monitoring stream-health messages once live.

Copyright and monetization are separate questions
A looping file is a technical way to keep content playing; it does not guarantee that the channel or stream qualifies for monetization. YouTube’s channel monetization policy applies to live streams and says highly repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible, including content with little variation and little educational or other value. Make the session original and useful to viewers rather than relying on repetition alone. YouTube’s policy page notes a July 15, 2025 clarification and renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content.” See YouTube channel monetization policies.

Troubleshooting a looping yoga nidra stream
- YouTube does not show the incoming stream: Check that the stream is enabled, the encoder is running, and OBS has the correct YouTube stream URL and key. If this is the channel’s first live stream, activation may take up to 24 hours.
- The file stops instead of repeating: Reopen the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. For a multi-file sequence, confirm you used the VLC Video source, VLC is installed, and Loop Playlist is selected.
- The picture or sound is missing or wrong: Preview the OBS scene and YouTube’s incoming preview before going live. Check the selected file, frame layout, audio level, and the beginning and end of the recording.
- Stream health reports connection problems: Check upload speed and reduce the bitrate or resolution to a level the connection can sustain. Preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom and use CBR with a two-second keyframe interval, not over four seconds.
- A warning, placeholder, or interruption appears: Check YouTube’s copyright notice and the rights status of the matched material. Confirm permission covers live streaming and the archive; if a third-party license is involved, ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting.
