You can run recorded BPSC preparation lessons as a continuous YouTube live stream by enabling live streaming on your channel, sending the video through an encoder, and monitoring the feed. Before you begin, plan for two important limits: first-time live activation may take up to 24 hours, and YouTube may not archive streams longer than 12 hours. Plan the stream before you configure it
Decide what viewers will see and hear across the full schedule: recorded lessons, breaks, topic changes, and any narration or on-screen information. For a BPSC preparation channel, verify the exact examination you are targeting and check its current syllabus, format, and schedule against the latest official BPSC notice. Do not present exam dates, subjects, or eligibility as current unless you have checked that notice.
Also decide whether YouTube’s replay archive matters. A continuous stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as a replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; if preserving recordings matters, schedule sessions under 12 hours and keep a separate local recording where possible. Session breaks are an operational workaround, not a guarantee of platform behavior.
Enable YouTube Live and create the broadcast
- Verify your channel and enable live streaming. Complete YouTube’s channel verification and enable live streaming in YouTube Studio. A first-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so do this before the intended launch. The channel must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup requirements.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream and set its title, description, visibility, and other broadcast details there. Use the current BPSC exam name and topic only after checking the official notice.
- Copy the ingest details into your encoder. YouTube provides a server URL and stream key for the broadcast. Treat the key like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish it or include it in screenshots. YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension of RTMP. See the YouTube encoder settings guide.
Choose an encoder and set video quality
An encoder sends your recorded video and audio to YouTube as a live feed. It can be software running on a computer, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service. This do-it-yourself setup assumes a local software or hardware encoder; exact menus vary by product, so use the encoder’s current documentation for where to enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key.

Match bitrate to your connection
YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264 recommendations of 5 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 3 Mbps for 480p at 30 fps. These are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that your computer or internet connection can sustain the feed. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload-bandwidth headroom, so do not plan to use the full measured upload capacity for the stream. If the connection fluctuates, choose a lower resolution or bitrate and test before launch.
YouTube’s encoder guide also lists H.265 and AV1 video options. Availability depends on your encoder and setup; do not select a codec your encoder cannot output or your workflow has not been tested with. For a long educational stream, a stable, legible picture and intelligible voice matter more than choosing the highest available resolution.

Configure and test the feed
- In the encoder, select the intended video source or playlist, audio input, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate. Use the H.264 figures above as YouTube recommendations for the specified resolutions and frame rate, then adjust for your actual connection and encoder.
- Enter the YouTube server URL and stream key for the correct scheduled or live broadcast. Keep the key private.
- Start a test feed and check the Live Control Room preview before making the broadcast public. Play content with movement and sound similar to the real lessons, not just a static title card.
- Open the watch page as a viewer to confirm that it loads and that the audio and video are acceptable. Check stream health and audio/video quality during operation, not only at startup. YouTube’s live-streaming tips cover connection and stream-quality guidance.
If you are recording or narrating classes, an external microphone is an optional way to capture your voice; it is not required to stream prerecorded video. Test the actual audio mix, including lesson audio and any added commentary, before leaving a stream unattended.
Protect the replay, copyright, and monetization eligibility
Plan for YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If the replay is important, schedule separate sessions that end before that threshold and start a new session for the next block. Keep a local recording backup if you need a dependable copy; do not treat a YouTube replay as the only archive for a continuous 24/7 stream.

Use material you have rights to broadcast
Your permission needs to cover both live transmission and archived availability. That includes lesson recordings, slides, images, music, and any other embedded material. YouTube’s live-stream terms state that live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and that you need the necessary rights for the material you broadcast. Review the YouTube live-stream terms and policies before including third-party content.
Make the teaching clearly original
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams. Its inauthentic-content policy, clarified effective July 15, 2025, identifies repetitive or mass-produced material with little educational value as potentially ineligible for monetization; reviewers assess a channel as a whole. For a preparation stream, make the educational contribution apparent: explain solutions, add instructor commentary, organize lessons into distinct topics, and avoid simply rebroadcasting another creator’s recordings or looping nearly identical segments. These practices do not guarantee monetization approval.

Troubleshoot common failures
YouTube Live is not available yet
Check that channel verification and live streaming are complete, and confirm there has not been a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours before expecting access.
The encoder will not connect
Confirm that you copied the server URL and stream key for the correct broadcast, that the key has not been changed or revoked, and that the encoder is configured to send to YouTube. Keep the key private. If you regenerate it in YouTube Studio, update the encoder with the new key.
The stream buffers or stream health is poor
Reduce bitrate or resolution, then test again. Check that the connection has the recommended upload headroom instead of allocating all available bandwidth to the stream. If the network is shared or variable, test under the conditions expected during the full broadcast.
The replay is missing
Check the stream duration. YouTube may not capture streams longer than 12 hours. For future broadcasts, split the schedule into shorter sessions and make a separate local recording if keeping a copy is essential.

The picture works but the lesson audio does not
Check the encoder’s selected audio source, its input level, and whether the video file itself contains an audible track. Preview the feed and listen from the public watch page before leaving the stream running.
