Yes. One YouTube channel can run several live streams at the same time, so you can broadcast separate course feeds from it. YouTube currently limits a channel to 10 active streams and each stream key to three active streams; both limits apply simultaneously. You will need to create a separate live event for each course feed and configure its encoder to send to the intended event.
What you need to know before setting up multiple course streams
- Active streams: YouTube allows up to 10 active streams per channel and up to three active streams per stream key. These limits apply at the same time, so being below one limit does not override the other. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance gives the current limits.
- Stream creation: YouTube also applies a channel-wide limit to the number of live streams that can be created in a 24-hour period. Its cited error guidance does not state a universal count, so do not plan around an assumed daily allowance. Check YouTube’s live-stream error guidance if you encounter a creation-limit message.
- First-time activation: Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours. YouTube’s guidance also lists channel verification and no recent live-stream restrictions among the prerequisites. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
- Replays: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not promise that one uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will be saved as a single complete replay. Plan replay access separately.
How to set up a separate live stream for each course
- Enable and verify live streaming. Confirm the channel can go live in YouTube Studio. If this is the channel’s first live stream, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- Create a separate live event for each course. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create the events and label them clearly so each course feed is associated with the right event.
- Record the destination details for each event. Note the stream URL and stream key shown for the intended event. YouTube describes the key as the password and address for the stream; treat it like a credential and do not publish or share it casually. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Assign each encoder output to its event. In the encoder’s settings, enter the matching YouTube live server URL and stream key. Keep each course’s output mapped to its own event; do not treat one shared key as a way around YouTube’s per-key and per-channel limits.
- Check capacity and monitor the feeds. Before starting, count all active streams on the channel and on each key. Monitor each event independently so you can identify which course feed has stopped or is pointed at the wrong destination.
- Plan how students will access replays. YouTube’s automatic-archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours, not a continuous 24/7 stream. If students need a replay, arrange a separate recording or shorter scheduled sessions rather than assuming a full-day broadcast will be archived as one video.
Choose software, hardware, or cloud operation
YouTube documents both software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. The cited guidance does not name a required model or establish one approach as universally better. Choose based on how much production control you need and who will operate and monitor each feed.

For a 24/7 course channel, consider whether the feeds must be live continuously
Separate 24/7 streams can make sense when each course needs its own always-available destination. Before committing to continuous broadcasts, decide how students will distinguish the course feeds, who will monitor them, and whether they need an uninterrupted live destination or scheduled lessons with replay access. A continuous stream also does not remove YouTube’s active-stream limits or the separate daily stream-creation limit.

Copyright, monetization, and course content
YouTube’s encoder guide says channels in the YouTube Partner Program can monetize live streams. That does not establish that a particular channel or course qualifies. Check your channel’s current eligibility and ensure you have the rights to all course video, audio, and other material before streaming or monetizing it.
