If a GrabzIt screenshot is missing a font or image, first check whether the capture can reach the asset and whether its URL resolves correctly. Add a wait or delay only when the asset request succeeds but the page is captured before the content is ready. The right fix depends on whether you capture a public URL, submit raw HTML, or use GrabzIt’s JavaScript ConvertPage flow.
First identify how GrabzIt receives the page
The capture route affects where relative URLs resolve and which resources the renderer can fetch. GrabzIt documents URL captures, HTML-to-image conversion, and a JavaScript flow that captures a user’s page. GrabzIt’s HTML-to-image guidance and its JavaScript screenshot guidance describe the relevant asset requirements.
- Public URL: GrabzIt opens the page address. Confirm the page and its assets are accessible to the capture process, not just to your logged-in browser.
- Supplied HTML: Relative paths may not resolve as intended. Use absolute asset URLs or embed suitable images as Base64 data URLs.
- JavaScript
ConvertPage: Resources such as CSS and images must be publicly available to load in the screenshot flow.
Check the missing asset before changing timing
Open the page in browser developer tools and inspect the failing font or image request. Record its URL and status, then distinguish a failed request from a request that succeeds only after the capture has started.
- Look for 404 responses, redirects, blocked requests, authentication requirements, malformed paths, and mixed or otherwise invalid URLs.
- Check whether the asset is hosted on
localhost, a private network, or another location the capture process cannot reach. - For supplied HTML or CSS, replace relative references with absolute URLs. If appropriate for an image, embedding it as a Base64 data URL avoids a separate image fetch, though it increases the HTML payload.
A longer delay cannot make a private or inaccessible asset reachable. GrabzIt’s guidance on HTML-to-image assets and JavaScript screenshots covers these approaches.

Wait for content that loads after the initial page
If the asset request is valid but the page adds the relevant content asynchronously, wait for a visible element that appears when that content is ready. A CSS selector is usually a more targeted signal than an arbitrary pause, provided the element reliably appears after the content is inserted.
- Use browser developer tools to identify a selector for the specific content or a reliable “ready” element.
- Set GrabzIt’s element-wait option for the interface you use, then capture again.
- If the selector appears before the font or image finishes loading, combine the wait with a modest delay and verify the result.
Choose a specific selector: if multiple matching elements exist, the wait may finish when one matching element becomes visible, not necessarily the one that proves the target content is ready. GrabzIt explains selector waits and delays in its capture-delay support article.

Choose a delay only when a fixed pause makes sense
A delay is useful when there is no dependable element to signal readiness. Set it in milliseconds and use the shortest value that consistently allows the required content to load. A delay adds time to each capture and does not remedy failed asset requests.
The limits depend on the interface: GrabzIt’s support guidance describes a maximum wait of 30 seconds for its techniques; its REST API reference documents delay up to 30,000 ms and waitfor up to 25 seconds. The Node.js technical documentation lists delay up to 30,000 ms and waitForElement as a CSS selector for an element that must be visible. Check the documentation for your exact interface before setting a value: support article, REST API reference, and Node.js technical documentation.

Check browser rendering and viewport when assets load
If the font or image is present but looks different, clipped, or misplaced, the problem may be rendering or responsive layout rather than asset access or load timing. GrabzIt says its capture software is based on Chromium and recommends comparing the result with Chrome. For layout differences, vary the browser width and check whether a responsive breakpoint changes the page. Its browser consistency guidance suggests trying a delay of 5,000 milliseconds or more for load-timing problems; treat that as troubleshooting advice, not a universal fix for inaccessible resources.

Use this sequence to isolate the cause
- Classify the symptom: failed asset request means access or URL trouble; a successful request that finishes late means timing; an asset that loads but appears incorrectly means rendering or viewport.
- Fix the URL or access issue: correct the path, remove access restrictions where appropriate, or use an absolute URL or embedded image data for supplied HTML.
- Add a readiness signal: wait for a specific visible element; use a short delay as a supplement if that element appears before the asset is ready.
- Compare in Chrome: check viewport width and responsive behavior if placement or clipping differs.
- Change one factor at a time: save a fresh capture after each adjustment so the cause remains clear.
GrabzIt markets support for web fonts and lazy-loaded images, but that is not an unconditional guarantee: the assets still need to be correctly referenced and available to the capture process. GrabzIt’s screenshot API description lists those capabilities; its resource guidance explains the access condition.
