Check print preview first, then adjust the available layout controls and preview again. The exact cause depends on the browser, device, webpage, and settings.
Find where the text gets cut off
Compare the webpage, the browser’s print preview, and the saved PDF. This helps separate a print-layout problem from a PDF-viewing display issue.
- Check the webpage. If text is already missing or obscured there, the issue is not necessarily the PDF print layout.
- Open print preview. If the preview shows the clipping, adjust print settings before saving.
- Inspect the saved PDF at normal zoom. If the preview looked correct but the PDF appears clipped, check whether the page itself is cut off or whether the PDF viewer’s zoom or fit display is making it look that way.
Record whether the clipping is at the sides, top or bottom, or across the whole layout. That pattern can help identify which print controls to test.
Adjust print layout, margins, and scale
Microsoft Edge’s documented print controls include orientation, margins, and “Scale to print,” with fit-to-printable-area, actual-size, and custom choices. Try a fit option or adjust the scale, then inspect the preview after each change. If text is clipped at the sides, also try landscape orientation or a different paper size if the dialog offers it. The available options and labels can vary by platform and print destination.

Edge’s instructions cover these controls and preview: Print in Microsoft Edge. These are troubleshooting options, not proof that any one setting is the cause of a particular PDF’s clipping.
Print a cleaner or smaller portion of the page
Try a simplified reading view
Microsoft Edge suggests Immersive Reader as a clutter-free printing option on supported websites. If it is available for the page, try printing from that view and check preview before saving. It is not available on every site.

Print selected content
Edge also documents printing selected webpage content. Select only the text or section you need, then use the browser’s print workflow and inspect the preview. This can be useful when a page’s full layout is too wide or complex, but it is not a guaranteed fix for every clipping problem.
Use the system print dialog
If the browser’s print panel does not expose a useful option, Edge documents opening the system print dialog. Available controls depend on the operating system and destination; check preview if one is shown before saving or printing.

Save a webpage as PDF in Chrome
Chrome’s documented workflow is to open the webpage, invoke Print, adjust the available print settings, and choose Save as PDF in the print interface. The specific controls depend on the platform and destination, and Google’s instructions do not identify a universal setting that fixes all clipping: Print from Chrome.
If a PDF has already been saved, Chrome’s built-in PDF viewer includes PDF management and annotation features. Google’s documentation does not establish that a paid editor is needed to address webpage print clipping: Manage PDFs in Chrome.

If preview looks right but the PDF still looks clipped
- Open the PDF at normal zoom and compare it with the preview. A fit-to-window view can make page edges or text look different.
- Check whether the saved PDF’s page size and orientation match the settings you selected.
- Try saving again after changing one setting at a time, so you can tell which change affects the result.
- If the problem persists, note your browser and version, operating system, webpage URL, print destination, paper size, and where the clipping appears. Those details are needed to narrow down a browser-, device-, or page-specific cause.
