Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →For a YouTube Live stream, start with OBS using H.264, CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo audio at 128 Kbps. YouTube’s recommended H.264 video bitrate is 5 Mbps for 1080p30 or 3 Mbps for 720p30; choose the lower profile if it is more reliable on your actual JioFiber connection and computer. These are YouTube recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular JioFiber line can sustain a 24/7 broadcast. This guide assumes YouTube Live; check your intended platform’s current ingest requirements if you are streaming elsewhere.
Recommended OBS settings for YouTube Live
These profiles follow Google/YouTube’s current live encoder guidance, accessed in 2026. The bitrates are recommendations for the specified resolution and frame rate—not measured JioFiber upload speeds or a promise of uninterrupted delivery.
| Profile | Recommended video bitrate | Encoder and rate control | Keyframe interval | Audio |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | H.264, CBR | 2 seconds | AAC stereo, 128 Kbps |
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | H.264, CBR | 2 seconds | AAC stereo, 128 Kbps |
| 1080p60 | 12 Mbps | H.264, CBR | 2 seconds | AAC stereo, 128 Kbps |
| 720p60 | 6 Mbps | H.264, CBR | 2 seconds | AAC stereo, 128 Kbps |
For a continuous stream, 30 fps is a sensible starting point unless the content genuinely benefits from 60 fps and both the encoder and connection can sustain it. Pick a profile based on stable upload capacity and sustained computer performance, not the highest number OBS permits.
Set the output in OBS
OBS labels can differ slightly between versions and operating systems. In OBS Studio, open Settings; the key controls are in Output and Video. The YouTube profile above is for H.264 streaming over YouTube Live’s RTMP/RTMPS ingest.

- Compact but Powerful Design: ZowieBox is smaller than a phone, featuring a tally light and LCD screen for streaming status. Capture console gameplay in up to 4K with zero-lag HDMI passthrough, while the built-in video encoder converts video for IP streaming. The IP stream can also be decoded back to a 4K HDMI signal.
- Standalone Game Streaming: Just plug and play—ZowieBox enables PC-free live gaming without affecting gameplay. As an RTMP hardware encoder and HDMI streamer, it delivers stable streaming directly from your source, making it ideal for gaming, live events, and professional broadcasting.
- NDI|HX3 Converter Technology: ZowieBox converts HDMI signals to NDI|HX3/HX2/HX, functioning as an NDI video encoder, or NDI Video Decoder for flexible IP workflows. Certified NDI technology enables low-latency gameplay streaming through OBS/vMix. Note: Encoder and decoder modes cannot run simultaneously; full NDI signals are not supported.
- UVC to HDMI Conversion: Supporting up to 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps decoding, ZowieBox enables flexible conversion for webcam and video workflows. As a video decoder and HDMI to IP converter, it expands connectivity options for professional video devices. Note: USB capture card functionality is not currently supported.
- All-around Configuration Options: Control ZowieBox through its web UI on a PC, phone, or tablet. Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.
- Choose the streaming output controls. Open Settings > Output. If the relevant encoder controls are not shown, set Output Mode to Advanced, then select the Streaming tab.
- Select an H.264 encoder. Choose an available H.264 encoder, such as a hardware H.264 encoder if your system provides one, or an H.264 software encoder. The important target here is H.264; encoder performance depends on your computer.
- Set rate control and bitrate. Set Rate Control to CBR. Enter the video bitrate for the profile you intend to test: 5000 Kbps for 1080p30, 3000 Kbps for 720p30, 12000 Kbps for 1080p60, or 6000 Kbps for 720p60. OBS may display bitrate in Kbps rather than Mbps.
- Set keyframes. Set Keyframe Interval to 2 s (or 2, depending on the field’s units).
- Set audio. In the streaming audio controls, use AAC, stereo, and 128 Kbps. If OBS presents bitrate by audio track, set the track used by your live scene to 128 Kbps.
- Set the video dimensions and frame rate. Open Settings > Video. Choose an output resolution and frame rate matching the profile you selected—for example, 1920×1080 at 30 fps for 1080p30 or 1280×720 at 30 fps for 720p30. A higher bitrate does not compensate for a mismatched or unsustainable video profile.
- Configure YouTube as the destination. Open Settings > Stream, select YouTube if it is offered as a service, and connect the intended channel or enter its stream key. If entering a key manually, copy it from the correct YouTube Live setup and keep it private; anyone with access to the key may be able to send a stream to that destination. Do not publish it in a scene, description, or screenshot.
YouTube’s Live Control Room needs the encoder’s resolution, frame rate, and bitrate to identify the incoming stream, and YouTube transcodes a live input into multiple formats for viewers. Confirm that the incoming settings shown there match your OBS output rather than assuming that choosing a profile in OBS means the platform is receiving it.
Check JioFiber upload capacity before choosing a profile
Jio advertises symmetric upload and download speeds on its broadband plans, but an advertised plan rate is not the same as the sustained upload available to your streaming computer at a particular time. Jio’s Mumbai plan page, accessed in 2026, lists example tiers of 30, 100, 150, and 300 Mbps and describes the plans as symmetric; those examples are specific to that location and do not establish your package or actual throughput. See Jio’s Mumbai broadband plans.

- Run an upload speed test from the place and connection the OBS computer will use. A test on a phone elsewhere in the home, or over a different Wi-Fi band, may not reflect the computer’s connection.
- Treat a single speed test as a snapshot. Observe performance at different times, including the hours the stream is expected to run.
- Leave capacity for ordinary household network use. Do not set OBS to the entire advertised or momentary upload rate.
- If Wi-Fi appears to be the unstable part of the connection and the computer and router have compatible ports, try wired Ethernet and test again. A cable can avoid some Wi-Fi variability; it cannot fix ISP-side instability or guarantee a stable stream.
OBS’s stream connection troubleshooting guidance notes that bitrate depends on stable upload speed and recommends lowering video bitrate when troubleshooting connection problems. If the line cannot reliably sustain the chosen profile, lower the video bitrate or choose a lower resolution or frame rate, then test again.
Test the broadcast and monitor it while live
Before relying on an unattended broadcast, test with picture movement and audio representative of the actual program. YouTube recommends testing before going live and monitoring stream health and messages during the broadcast.

- Start with a private or otherwise appropriate test broadcast, and check the incoming resolution, frame rate, audio, and stream-health status in YouTube Live Control Room.
- Watch for warnings and connection problems over a meaningful period, including during the hours you expect to run the stream. A short successful test does not establish that a connection will remain stable indefinitely.
- If warnings or dropped frames appear, reduce OBS’s video bitrate first and retest. If that is not enough, reduce resolution or frame rate and confirm the computer can encode the chosen profile without falling behind.
- Only plan an unattended schedule after the test is stable enough for your needs, and decide who will check the live status and respond if the stream stops.
The cited YouTube encoder guidance does not prescribe a special 24/7 profile or guarantee uninterrupted streaming. Correct encoder settings alone do not establish that a particular broadcast will stay online continuously.
Check children’s-content, rights, and Jio plan considerations
OBS settings are only the technical side of a children’s broadcast. They do not make content suitable for children or establish that a particular stream complies with YouTube’s current rules. Before launch, check the current live-stream and child-directed-content requirements in YouTube Studio, apply the settings that fit the content, and make sure you have the rights needed for the video and audio you plan to broadcast. The exact policy outcome depends on the content and platform settings, so do not treat the encoder profile as a compliance check.

Troubleshoot common OBS and connection problems
| Symptom | Likely area to check | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| OBS reports dropped frames or YouTube shows connection warnings | Upload stability or bitrate demand | Lower the video bitrate, retest at the same time of day, and consider a lower resolution or frame rate if needed. |
| Video is choppy even when the connection appears stable | Encoder load or an unsustainable frame-rate/resolution combination | Check OBS’s performance indicators and reduce output resolution or frame rate if the computer cannot keep up. |
| The incoming resolution or frame rate differs from the intended profile | OBS Video output or stream configuration | Compare Settings > Video and the streaming output profile with the values shown in YouTube Live Control Room. |
| Viewers cannot hear the program | Wrong or silent audio source, track, or audio output setup | Confirm the intended source has audio in the OBS mixer and that the streaming audio track is enabled with AAC stereo settings. |
| The stream will not connect or appears to target the wrong channel | Service selection or stream key | Verify the selected YouTube service and that OBS uses the current key for the intended channel. Replace a key if it may have been exposed. |
| Connection problems occur mainly over Wi-Fi | Local wireless link | If the equipment supports it, test the streaming computer on wired Ethernet. If the issue remains, reassess upload stability and reduce the profile rather than assuming the cable will solve it. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a YouTube stream made from pre-recorded videos, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative to leaving OBS and a home computer running: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not stream from a camera, and it streams to YouTube only.
