StreamNeo is the clearest match for keeping a prerecorded YouTube playlist running from the cloud and attempting recovery after an interruption. StreamNeo says it monitors a running stream and attempts to reconnect automatically. That is a vendor claim, not an independently measured recovery guarantee. In particular, available information does not establish that recovery preserves the same YouTube broadcast, watch page, chat, DVR history, or exact playlist position.
What “resume” can mean after an outage
Before choosing a service, decide which kind of recovery you need. “Resume” can describe several different outcomes, and an automatic reconnect does not necessarily provide all of them.
- Sender reconnects: the streaming service reconnects to YouTube after an ingest connection drops.
- Channel is back on air: viewers can watch again, but the stream may be a new broadcast.
- Same YouTube broadcast continues: the existing event, watch page, and chat remain active.
- Playlist position is restored: playback returns to the same video and timestamp that were playing before the interruption.
StreamNeo describes automatic recovery for a dropped connection, but its available product information does not verify the last two continuity outcomes. If keeping the same event or precise media position matters, ask the provider directly and test that behavior with your own channel before relying on it.
Why StreamNeo is the closest fit
StreamNeo is built to play uploaded videos and playlists to YouTube from the cloud, rather than requiring a home computer to remain the sender. Its service page says it monitors the running stream and attempts to reconnect automatically if the connection drops. It also makes stream status and recent events visible. These are StreamNeo’s descriptions of its service, not independent uptime or recovery measurements. See StreamNeo.

Cloud hosting removes your home computer and internet connection from the sending path, but it does not eliminate the cloud service or YouTube as possible points of failure. Nor does the general reconnect claim establish that a broadcast ID, chat, DVR history, or exact playlist position survives every outage.
How to verify recovery before relying on it
1. Define the recovery outcome you need
Write down whether you need the channel back on air, the same YouTube event to remain active, or playback to return to a precise file and timestamp. Ask StreamNeo which of these behaviors it supports after a dropped ingest, and how to confirm them in its status or event history.

2. Run a controlled test broadcast
- Start a test playlist stream and note the YouTube event, watch page, and current video position.
- Use YouTube Live Control Room to watch stream health and note any errors or warnings.
- Test a planned interruption in a low-risk test, then check whether the stream reconnects and whether the outcome matches your requirements.
- Check the YouTube event, chat, and playlist position separately; seeing video return does not prove those details were preserved.
YouTube’s official live streaming tips recommend testing encoder failover by stopping the primary encoder or unplugging its Ethernet cable and checking that playback rolls over to the backup encoder. This is useful guidance for testing a backup-encoder setup; it is not proof that a cloud playlist service preserves the same event or media position. For stream-specific errors, consult YouTube’s live streaming error messages.
3. Distinguish broadcaster recovery from viewer DVR
YouTube DVR lets viewers pause and rewind a live stream; it does not restore the broadcaster’s playlist position after an ingest outage. YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Check YouTube’s live stream settings guidance when DVR behavior matters.

What to ask a provider before choosing
- What event triggers recovery: a lost connection, a stopped sender, or another failure?
- Does recovery happen automatically, and can you see stream status or recent events?
- Does it restore the same YouTube event and watch page, or can viewers be sent to a new broadcast?
- Does playback resume at the previous file and timestamp, restart a video, or continue another way?
- What should you check in YouTube Live Control Room if the stream does not return?
These questions separate a useful reconnect feature from broader continuity guarantees that should not be assumed.
