Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →You can run a 24/7 YouTube gaming highlights loop by preparing a rights-cleared video, enabling live streaming on your channel, and sending the file through either a local encoder or a cloud streaming service. A cloud service keeps the loop running without leaving a computer and home internet connection on. YouTube says first-time live-stream access can take up to 24 hours to activate, so check eligibility before launch.
What you need before starting
- A gaming highlights video you own or are licensed to use, including its music, overlays, and any third-party clips.
- A YouTube channel that is eligible for live streaming and has the feature enabled.
- A way to send the file to YouTube continuously: a local encoder such as OBS, or a cloud service listed for continuous prerecorded streams in YouTube’s encoder directory.
- A private copy of your YouTube stream key. Treat it like a password: anyone with it may be able to broadcast to your stream.
YouTube describes an encoder as a tool that “converts your video into a digital format to stream on YouTube.” Its encoder directory includes software encoders and cloud tools for continuous prerecorded streams. See YouTube’s encoder-based live-streaming guide.
Check channel eligibility first
YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified, have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and meet the minimum age of 16 to live stream. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours. These are YouTube’s stated requirements; check the current help pages and your channel’s status because access can depend on channel eligibility.
Review YouTube’s computer live-streaming requirements and enable live streaming in YouTube Studio well before your planned start.

Prepare and review the highlights file
Check every rights layer
Having the exported video file does not necessarily mean you have rights to everything inside it. Gameplay, in-game music, separately added soundtrack, overlays, and third-party clips can involve different rights. Review the game publisher’s streaming terms and retain permission or license records for assets you did not create. Remove questionable material rather than assuming that permission to stream gameplay covers every audio track.
Make the presentation accurate
Use a title, description, and other metadata that make clear the broadcast is a continuous loop of prerecorded gaming highlights. Do not suggest the gameplay is happening live or promise live interaction if neither is true. Keep a separate backup of the finished source file; a live broadcast should not be your only copy.

Choose a way to keep the stream running
| Option | What it does | What you need to manage |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo (cloud) | Uploads your video and loops it to YouTube from the cloud, so your computer does not need to stay on. One flat price per slot applies to any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; the first day is free. | Check the provider’s current pricing and service details, upload limits, supported files, and account security. StreamNeo is for YouTube streams. |
| OBS or another local encoder | YouTube lists OBS as open-source software available at no charge. A local encoder sends your source to YouTube from your own setup. | Your computer, network, encoder process, and source storage must remain available and be maintained. A local setup has no established uptime guarantee. |
YouTube lists both software encoders and cloud tools for continuous prerecorded streams. The practical difference is where the ongoing loop runs: on a computer you maintain, or on a cloud provider’s service.
Set up the YouTube broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio’s live control workflow. Create a live stream or select the stream you intend to use. Choose the correct title, category, visibility, and other metadata.
- Copy the stream key privately. In the stream settings, copy the key for the destination you selected. Do not post it or share it publicly; if it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.
- Configure your encoder or cloud service. Enter the YouTube stream key and destination details in the selected tool. For a local encoder, select the highlights source and configure its loop or replay behavior. For a cloud service, upload the source file and follow its current dashboard instructions.
- Preview before going live. Confirm the correct video and audio, inspect YouTube’s stream health, and verify that the broadcast title and visibility are right. Start the stream only after the preview looks correct.
- Check the live result. Open the public watch page or an authorized preview and confirm the intended video is playing. Monitor the stream at launch rather than assuming that a successful encoder connection means the viewer-facing broadcast is correct.
Do not assume there is one bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, or archive setting that suits every encoder, frame rate, and continuous-stream configuration. Use current settings specified by YouTube and the service or encoder you choose; the available guidance does not establish a universal value for every setup.

Keep the loop compliant and maintainable
- Copyright: Clear the rights for gameplay and all included audio and visual assets. If a claim or match identifies questionable material, remove or replace it in the loop and address the claim through YouTube’s available process.
- Transparency: Identify the stream as prerecorded highlights. Avoid metadata or presentation that could mislead viewers about whether the content is happening in real time.
- Quality checks: Revisit the stream after launch to check playback, audio, and stream health. Keep the source video separately so you can restore it if an upload or local file is lost.
- Monetization: A continuous broadcast does not guarantee YouTube Partner Program approval or revenue. Eligibility and policy review are separate from whether the stream stays online; originality and reused-content review may affect a channel independently.
YouTube’s published policies do not establish a blanket ban on continuously looping content that the creator owns or is licensed to use, but a loop can still raise copyright, deceptive-presentation, spam or manipulation, and monetization-eligibility concerns. That is a practical risk summary, not a promise that any particular stream will be approved or monetized. See StreamNeo’s discussion of 24/7 loop policy risks alongside YouTube’s current rules.
Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification, age eligibility, and whether the channel has a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. If this is your first enablement, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive a signal: Recheck the stream key and destination in both YouTube Studio and the encoder or service. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the destination configuration.
- The wrong video or metadata appears: Stop and correct the selected source, stream, title, category, or visibility before continuing. Preview the result rather than relying on the file name or saved settings.
- Playback or audio is incorrect: Check the source file and its audio tracks, then verify the encoder or service is using the intended file. Preview again after changing the source.
- The stream stops unexpectedly: With a local encoder, check that the computer, network, and encoder remain active. With a cloud provider, consult its current status and recovery information and confirm the stream key and uploaded source are still configured correctly.
- A copyright claim appears: Identify which footage, music, or other asset triggered it. Remove or replace material you cannot establish rights to use; owning the exported highlights file alone does not resolve third-party rights.
Cost and operational trade-offs
OBS is listed by YouTube as open-source software available at no charge, but a local loop still depends on an available computer and network and on someone maintaining them. A cloud service shifts continuous hosting to a provider and has its own plan limits and price. Compare those costs with the power, connectivity, and time required for a machine left running; do not assume either option has guaranteed uptime.
