To run a 24/7 devotional stream on a Hindu community’s YouTube channel, enable live streaming, create a broadcast in YouTube Studio, and send a cleared audio-visual source through an encoder such as OBS. The key decisions are whether you are streaming a live service or looping prepared media, who will monitor the stream, and how you will handle rights, outages, and recordings.
Choose a live service or a prepared devotional loop
A live service needs a way to capture its picture and sound: for example, a camera, microphones, a mixer, and an encoder. A prepared loop of bhajans, kirtan, or other devotional media may need only an encoder, a reliable network, the media files, and a visual. A camera or microphone is not automatically necessary for prerecorded content.
Decide who will be responsible for starting the broadcast, checking that it is playing correctly, and responding if it stops. A continuous stream still needs an operational plan, even if the source is prerecorded.

Check channel eligibility before launch
- Verify the YouTube channel if it is not already verified.
- Check that the channel has no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days and that the streamer meets YouTube’s stated minimum age requirement.
- Enable live streaming and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Choose the stream format and prepare the media or live-service equipment before scheduling the broadcast.
Eligibility and activation requirements can change, so confirm the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming setup before launch.

- Compact but Powerful Design: ZowieBox is smaller than a phone, featuring a tally light and LCD screen for streaming status. Capture console gameplay in up to 4K with zero-lag HDMI passthrough, while the built-in video encoder converts video for IP streaming. The IP stream can also be decoded back to a 4K HDMI signal.
- Standalone Game Streaming: Just plug and play—ZowieBox enables PC-free live gaming without affecting gameplay. As an RTMP hardware encoder and HDMI streamer, it delivers stable streaming directly from your source, making it ideal for gaming, live events, and professional broadcasting.
- NDI|HX3 Converter Technology: ZowieBox converts HDMI signals to NDI|HX3/HX2/HX, functioning as an NDI video encoder, or NDI Video Decoder for flexible IP workflows. Certified NDI technology enables low-latency gameplay streaming through OBS/vMix. Note: Encoder and decoder modes cannot run simultaneously; full NDI signals are not supported.
- UVC to HDMI Conversion: Supporting up to 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps decoding, ZowieBox enables flexible conversion for webcam and video workflows. As a video decoder and HDMI to IP converter, it expands connectivity options for professional video devices. Note: USB capture card functionality is not currently supported.
- All-around Configuration Options: Control ZowieBox through its web UI on a PC, phone, or tablet. Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.
Clear every song, recording, and visual
Make a rights inventory for every song, performance, backing track, image, video, and other third-party element in the stream. Confirm that the permissions cover the live broadcast and any recording, archive, or replay you plan to make available. Religious or widely shared material is not automatically cleared for broadcast.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If it identifies an unresolved match, it may interrupt or terminate the stream. A licence alone may not prevent an interruption: the rights owner may also need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with the label or distributor when using protected music. Confirm the process with the relevant rights holders; requirements can depend on the material and jurisdiction.

Create the broadcast and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, select Create, then Go Live, and open the Live Control Room.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Install and open an encoder. YouTube lists OBS as an open-source software option available at no charge; it also supports standalone hardware encoders.
- In OBS, add the source that matches your plan: capture devices for a live service, or prepared media and a visual for a prerecorded loop.
- Open OBS stream settings and enter the stream URL and stream key provided by YouTube’s Live Control Room. Use the values for this broadcast, and do not share them publicly.
- Configure the output format and audio for the selected source, then start sending the encoder preview. Check the Live Control Room preview before sending the broadcast live.
- Follow the Live Control Room’s instructions to start the stream. For a scheduled broadcast, the operator may still need to select Go Live in the Control Room after the encoder starts sending, depending on the selected settings.
Use YouTube’s current encoder requirements for the resolution and output format you choose. The appropriate bitrate depends on that output; there is no single bitrate or resolution established for every devotional stream.
Make the connection and monitoring plan resilient
YouTube recommends keeping total outgoing bitrate below available upload capacity, with 20% headroom. Check outbound upload speed rather than relying on download speed. On a shared community or office connection, the capacity available to the streaming device may be lower than the advertised connection speed.

- Test the full setup before the planned launch, including the encoder, media source, audio, and network.
- Check the Live Control Room preview and open the viewer-facing stream on a phone to confirm that both picture and sound are working.
- Assign someone to monitor the broadcast and receive outage alerts. Network disruption can break a stream.
- If an interruption would be especially disruptive, assess whether a backup encoder and a defined response plan are appropriate. Test the actual backup arrangement; there is no universal 24/7 failover configuration established here.
A wired Ethernet connection is an optional way to connect the streaming computer when its network and layout support it. It is not a guarantee against interruption.
Plan recordings separately from the 24/7 broadcast
YouTube’s current encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will produce a complete automatic replay. If the community needs recordings, consider whether to end and restart shorter broadcasts or record locally, and verify how the chosen workflow behaves in YouTube Studio. Rights for recordings and replays should be covered as well as rights for the live feed.

Choose the operating setup that fits the community
| Approach | Best suited to | Main trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Computer with a software encoder such as OBS | A prepared-media loop or a simple live service when a computer and operator are available | OBS is available at no charge, but the computer must stay on and someone must handle maintenance and monitoring. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | A live service or production that benefits from dedicated capture equipment | Requires hardware purchase and configuration; YouTube documents this as an option but does not endorse a particular model here. |
| Cloud service | A community that wants to reduce dependence on a local always-on computer | Compare the service’s cost, automation, reliability terms, and rights workflow. Verify service-specific claims directly rather than assuming all cloud services work alike. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a community use a camera and microphones for the same broadcast?
Yes. Use capture equipment in the encoder when broadcasting a live service; prerecorded loops do not require a camera or microphone unless the production calls for them.
Does YouTube automatically save a complete 24-hour replay?
Do not rely on that. YouTube’s encoder instructions state that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; plan a separate recording workflow for a full-day archive.
