In Streamlabs Talk Studio, open Schedule (or press Shift+J), choose + Schedule, select your connected YouTube channel, and fill in the broadcast type and event details. Scheduling creates the event; it does not start your show. When you are ready to broadcast, return to that scheduled item, enter its studio, and click Go Live.
Before you schedule: connect and enable YouTube
Your YouTube channel must be connected to Talk Studio and eligible for live streaming. Streamlabs’ Talk Studio Streaming Destinations guide, last updated April 25, 2025, describes two setup steps for YouTube: verify the channel by text message, then enable live streaming in YouTube Studio.
- In Talk Studio, connect YouTube as a destination and follow the prompts to authorize the account.
- If YouTube requires channel verification, complete its SMS verification. Streamlabs’ YouTube browser-streaming guide, last updated March 5, 2025, says verification can take up to 24 hours; allow for YouTube’s current processing time rather than relying on a guaranteed turnaround.
- If live streaming has not yet been enabled, Streamlabs’ destination guide instructs users to open YouTube Studio and choose Create > Go-live > Right now > Built-in webcam, then run an unlisted test stream. That guide says to wait 24 hours after the test before streaming through Talk Studio. Follow the current YouTube prompts if the interface has changed.
- Allow camera and microphone access in your browser if Talk Studio asks for it. You will need those permissions when presenting live, though they are not a substitute for YouTube channel verification.
Schedule the YouTube broadcast
- Open scheduling. In Talk Studio, click Schedule or press Shift+J, then click + Schedule.
- Choose YouTube. Select your connected YouTube destination from the available platforms.
- Choose the content type. Select Live-stream if you will present at broadcast time, or Pre-recorded video to schedule an uploaded recording. Streamlabs’ Talk Studio Broadcast Scheduling guide, last updated April 25, 2025, lists a 5 GB upload limit for prerecorded videos and duration limits of one hour on Standard or two hours on Pro/Ultra. These are plan and product limits from that dated guide; check the current Talk Studio controls for the limits that apply to your account.
- Enter the event details. Add the title, description, scheduled date and time, and thumbnail as requested. The April 25, 2025 guide describes scheduling up to 50 days in advance; if Talk Studio shows a different window, use the current control.
- Confirm scheduling. Submit the form and look for Talk Studio’s success notification. The guide says YouTube creates an event link. Use the confirmation details to find and share it with viewers; check the event in YouTube if you need to verify its visibility or details.
Start the scheduled show later
- At show time, open Schedule and locate the broadcast.
- Click Enter Studio for that item. If guests will join, enter the studio before inviting them.
- Set up your live presentation, then click Go Live (or press Shift+Enter) when you are ready to start. If you entered the studio but are not ready, use Schedule to leave it without starting the broadcast.
Timing and scheduling cautions
Streamlabs’ scheduling guide, last updated April 25, 2025, says to go live within 15 minutes of the scheduled time and that a scheduled broadcast cannot be started after its scheduled date and time has passed; its stated remedy is to delete the missed schedule and create another. The guide also advises not to delete a destination after scheduling. These are Talk Studio instructions from that dated guide, not general YouTube rules, and may change. If your event is late, the destination has changed, or the controls differ, check the current schedule and YouTube event before relying on the old item.
Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- YouTube is missing or cannot be selected: confirm YouTube is connected in Talk Studio. If the channel is new to live streaming, check that it is verified and live streaming is enabled in YouTube Studio; complete any pending setup before scheduling.
- YouTube verification or live access is still pending: follow the current YouTube prompts and allow time for activation. The Streamlabs guides cited above give approximate waits, not guaranteed service times.
- No event link appears: confirm Talk Studio displayed a successful scheduling notification, then inspect the scheduled item and YouTube event. Streamlabs’ guide says YouTube creates a link, but the exact controls may vary as the interface changes.
- The prerecorded video is rejected: check the current file-size and duration limits for your Talk Studio plan. The 5 GB and plan-specific duration figures above come from the guide last updated April 25, 2025, and should not be assumed current if the app shows otherwise.
- The scheduled time has passed: the cited guide says a missed schedule cannot be started afterward; create a new schedule rather than expecting the old event to start.
- You cannot enter the studio or start the show: make sure you selected the correct scheduled item, that its destination is still connected, and that browser camera and microphone permissions are granted if you are presenting live.
