To keep recorded JEE chemistry lessons running as a YouTube Live stream, connect an encoder to a stream you create in YouTube Studio, then feed it an ordered set of lesson videos. The encoder may run on a computer you leave on, or in a cloud service. First confirm your channel is eligible, your recordings and embedded materials are cleared for streaming, and you have a separate copy of the lesson files.

What a 24/7 YouTube Live stream does—and does not do

A continuous stream sends video from an encoder to YouTube Live, where viewers watch it as a live broadcast. It is different from uploading each lesson as a normal video or arranging ordinary uploads in a playlist: those remain available on demand, but do not create one continuous live event.

For recorded classes, the encoder supplies the video feed. YouTube Studio supplies the stream URL and key that connect the encoder to your channel. YouTube documents both computer-based encoders and cloud options for streaming prerecorded videos. The exact controls for looping lessons depend on the encoder you choose; check its current documentation rather than assuming YouTube Studio itself will repeat a video playlist.

Check channel eligibility and rights before setup

Enable live streaming early

YouTube Help says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days to stream. Its general live-stream guidance says streamers must be at least 16. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable the feature and check the channel’s current status well before announcing a launch. YouTube’s stated rule is: “All content in live streams must adhere to our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.” YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming

Clear every part of each lesson

Having permission to teach a subject does not automatically grant rights to every item in a recording. Check the instructor recording, slides, diagrams, music, footage, and any third-party educational material. YouTube says it scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects such material, a placeholder may replace the stream and YouTube may warn you to stop using it; if it remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even licensed content can cause interruption unless the rights owner adds your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube’s livestream terms also require the provider to have the necessary rights to exploit the live content on Google services worldwide, including music rights, and to follow applicable laws and regulations. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams · YouTube Terms of Service

Prepare the JEE chemistry library

  1. Keep original files. Store the source class recordings separately from the live setup. Use filenames or folders that make the intended sequence easy to check—for example, physical chemistry foundations, organic chemistry reactions, then inorganic chemistry revision.
  2. Choose how the stream should progress. Decide whether lessons repeat in a fixed order, run as a curated rolling library, or include planned breaks. If your encoder offers playlists or looping, configure that behavior in its current documentation and test it; YouTube’s documentation does not define a universal playlist-loop setting for all encoders.
  3. Review each recording. Check that video and audio play correctly and that no lesson contains material you lack permission to stream. Avoid putting private student information or other unintended content on air.
  4. Plan for continuity and backup. A stream that stays live is not a substitute for preserving the lesson files. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep the original recordings and, if useful, make a separate local stream recording. YouTube Help: Archive live streams

Choose how to keep the stream running

Approach What it means Trade-off to consider
StreamNeo Upload recordings, add your YouTube stream key, and start the stream. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud. No computer or home connection needs to stay on. It is YouTube-only and uses a paid slot after the free first day; see the cloud option below for the included storage and terms.
Local encoder such as OBS Run streaming software on a computer and send its output to YouTube Live. YouTube lists OBS as open-source software available at no charge. Your computer, network connection, and encoder must keep running. A power, network, or software interruption can stop the feed unless you respond or have configured recovery.
Another managed cloud encoder YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams, so a dedicated PC or camera is not required. Check the provider’s current file support, recovery behavior, terms, and pricing before choosing. YouTube’s listing does not establish those vendor details.

There is no universal best option: the right choice depends on whether you prefer local control or reduced dependence on your own computer and internet connection. YouTube’s encoder guidance and list of verified encoders are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Create the YouTube Live event and connect the encoder

  1. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create a new stream or schedule one. Scheduling can show an upcoming event to subscribers and let viewers choose to receive a start notification, useful when announcing a revision stream or a continuous class library. See YouTube Help: Schedule a live stream.
  2. Copy the stream URL and key. In the stream’s encoder settings, copy the server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your encoder. The key is a credential that lets YouTube accept the feed; treat it like a password and do not publish or share it.
  3. Set up the recorded-video sequence. In the encoder, select the lessons or playlist and configure the repeat behavior the way that encoder supports. Confirm the order and what happens when the final file ends.
  4. Preview before going live. Start the encoder feed and check the Live Control Room preview before making the event public. Confirm the picture, audio, lesson order, and stream status.
  5. Start the event and check the viewer-facing page. Once the preview is correct, start the stream using the controls shown for that event. Check playback from the channel/watch page as well as from a mobile device.

YouTube’s available controls can change. Its Live Control Room settings include options such as DVR (which lets viewers pause and rewind during a live stream) and encoder auto-start or auto-stop. Review the current event settings and use only the controls that suit your schedule. For stream key management, see YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings.

Test and monitor a continuous broadcast

Do a full rehearsal before promoting the stream. YouTube recommends preparing in advance, checking the preview, testing encoder failover, confirming that local archive files are growing, and monitoring audio and video quality. For recorded classes, also verify that the stream advances to the next lesson and resumes the intended sequence after a test interruption. YouTube Help: YouTube live streaming tips

  • Picture and sound: Listen for missing or distorted audio and check that text on slides is legible on a phone-sized screen.
  • Sequence: Confirm that the correct class plays next and the repeat behavior is what you intended.
  • Connection recovery: Test what happens if the encoder loses its connection. Know how to restart it, and verify any failover configuration rather than assuming it works.
  • Backup: If recording a local archive, confirm that the file is actually growing and that the computer has enough storage for the planned recording.
  • Viewer experience: Check the actual watch page on a second device, not only the encoder’s preview.

Protect the stream key and preserve an archive

YouTube says a custom stream key can be reused. If you believe the key has been exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace the value in the encoder before the next broadcast. Keep your original class files even when YouTube creates an archive: automatic archive coverage is not guaranteed for streams longer than 12 hours. A separate local archive or backup storage can help preserve a copy, but neither is needed to transmit the stream itself.

Troubleshoot common failures

Symptom Likely place to check What to do
Live streaming is unavailable Channel verification, restrictions, or first-time activation Check the channel’s eligibility in YouTube Studio, resolve any restriction, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
YouTube does not receive the encoder feed Stream URL or key entry Compare the encoder’s server URL and key with the values for the selected Live Control Room event. If the key may be compromised, reset it and update the encoder.
Stream starts but a lesson does not play or repeat Encoder’s file selection and loop configuration Check the selected files, supported formats, playlist order, and loop behavior in the encoder’s current documentation. Test the transition at the end of a file before relying on it continuously.
Video freezes, goes silent, or disconnects Encoder, computer, or network for a local setup; provider status and recovery controls for a cloud setup Check the Live Control Room status and viewer-facing playback, then restore the encoder feed. Test recovery behavior before launch and monitor audio and video rather than relying only on a live status indicator.
Stream is interrupted after a copyright match Music, footage, slides, or other third-party content Review the flagged material and stream only content you have rights to use. If you have a license, ask the rights owner whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist.
No YouTube archive appears Stream duration Do not rely on an automatic archive for a stream exceeding 12 hours. Preserve source files and use a separate recording or storage arrangement if you need a complete copy.
