To loop a Hindi guided meditation recording on YouTube Live with FFmpeg, use -stream_loop -1 on the audio input, pair it with a video input (such as a still cover image), and publish the output to the RTMPS ingest address shown in YouTube’s Live Control Room. The command below is a starting template, not a tested command; replace the local filenames and account-specific destination, then verify audio and stream health before relying on it.
Before you start
- Install an FFmpeg build that includes the
libx264video encoder; the example uses it. - Prepare the Hindi meditation recording and a cover image on the computer running FFmpeg.
- Set up a YouTube live stream and obtain the current ingest address and stream key from YouTube’s Live Control Room. These values depend on your account and stream setup; do not use the example placeholders as real credentials. Keep the stream key private.
- Make sure you have permission to broadcast the recording continuously. Narration, music, and sound effects may have different rights holders. A license must allow continuous public live rebroadcast and cover the relevant territory.
- Check that your stable upload connection can sustain the selected outgoing bitrate. YouTube recommends a preflight test, an upload-speed check, and monitoring stream health during broadcast.
Build the FFmpeg command
In a terminal, adapt this template to your local filenames and the RTMPS destination shown in YouTube Live Control Room:

- Run the command from a terminal. Keep the FFmpeg process running while you want the broadcast to continue; closing the terminal or shutting down that computer stops this self-hosted stream.
- Check the Live Control Room for incoming video and audio and a healthy stream status before sharing the live broadcast with viewers.
What the important options do

The shown image is static; it supplies the video track required for a typical YouTube Live broadcast while the meditation audio repeats. YouTube also lists MP3 as an accepted live audio codec, but this template uses AAC. Recheck YouTube’s current encoder guidance before publishing because its recommendations can change.
Test the loop and monitor the broadcast
- Start with a short preflight broadcast or test rather than relying on an unverified setup for a long session.
- Listen to the live output, not only the local file. Confirm the narration is audible at a comfortable level and that the audio stays synchronized with the still image.
- Let playback reach the recording’s end and check how it begins again. A silence, click, or abrupt edit at the file boundary will repeat on every loop; edit or crossfade the recording first if you need a seamless transition.
- Watch YouTube Live Control Room’s stream-health messages while FFmpeg is running. If health is poor, check the upload connection and bitrate before increasing output quality.
Troubleshooting
- YouTube receives no stream: Recheck the ingest address and stream key in the current Live Control Room setup. Confirm the key has not been mistyped or replaced, and that the command is still running.
- FFmpeg reports an unknown encoder: The installed build may not include
libx264. Use a build that includes it before using this exact command. - Video appears but there is no audio: Check that the audio filename is correct, the file contains an audio stream, and
-stream_loop -1appears before that audio input’s-i. Confirm that the selected audio stream is mapped with-map 1:a:0. - Stream health warns about bitrate or connection: Check upload capacity and reduce the chosen output resolution/bitrate together as needed, following YouTube’s current recommendations. Do not assume a connection can sustain the configured rate just because a speed test briefly reaches it.
- The loop has a pause or audible jump: The input is repeating as encoded, including any silence or edit at its end. Edit or crossfade the source to improve the boundary.
- The stream stops when you leave: This method depends on the computer and FFmpeg process remaining active with a working internet connection. A sleeping or shut-down computer cannot keep this local FFmpeg job running.
