You can automate website screenshot reports in three practical ways: connect a scheduler such as Schedule by Zapier to a screenshot action, use a screenshot-monitoring service with recurring captures and email delivery, or build a workflow around an API and your own scheduler. Choose the approach based on whether you need every capture emailed, a PDF, or alerts only when the page changes.
Choose the right kind of scheduled report
First decide what the email is meant to deliver. A recurring image of a page, an attached PDF report, and a notification that a page changed are different outcomes and may require different tools.
- Send every capture: useful for a regular visual record. A scheduler plus a screenshot action can capture a URL and email the result.
- Send a PDF: useful when the recipient needs a paginated or printable document. Confirm that the screenshot action or report tool can create a PDF.
- Notify only about changes: useful for monitoring. Screenshot-specific services may compare captures and send an alert only when a change is detected.
Also decide whether to capture the visible viewport or the full page, how often to run the capture, which timezone controls the schedule, whether recipients receive an attachment or link, and how long prior captures remain available.
Option 1: Schedule a capture with Zapier and GetScreenshot
Zapier documents daily and weekly workflows that pair Schedule by Zapier with GetScreenshot. Its daily integration page says GetScreenshot will capture and email the screenshot to the provided email address. These are vendor-documented workflows, not a guarantee that every account or task configuration has identical options.

- Choose a trigger: create a Zap with Schedule by Zapier as the trigger and choose a daily or weekly schedule. Zapier’s examples cover both intervals; check the current scheduler fields for the available frequency and timing choices.
- Add the screenshot action: select GetScreenshot and provide the page URL and recipient email address as requested by the integration.
- Set the capture: choose full-page capture if you need content below the initial viewport. The integration documents full-page capture as an option.
- Choose the delivery format: configure PDF creation if the action offers it and a PDF is what recipients need. Otherwise, confirm whether the email contains an image, attachment, or link.
- Test before enabling the schedule: inspect the image or PDF, check that the intended page loaded, and confirm the test email reaches the right recipient. Then enable the recurring workflow.
Zapier’s weekly integration page describes a weekly capture-and-email workflow. Exact interface labels and available scheduling fields can change, so use the current Zap editor as the authority for your account.
Option 2: Use a screenshot-monitoring service
A screenshot-specific service can combine recurring capture, history, and notifications without requiring a separate general-purpose scheduler. Compare services by the functions you actually need rather than assuming that every service sends the same kind of report.

Set the schedule and report contents deliberately
Cadence, time, and timezone
Choose a recurrence that matches how often the page can materially change. Verify the timezone used by the scheduler; a daily or weekly label alone does not establish the exact run time or timezone. ClickUp’s documentation for dashboard reports illustrates the kinds of fields schedulers may expose, including start, repeat, time, timezone, and end date, but those fields should not be assumed to exist in every screenshot tool.
Full page or viewport
A viewport capture shows what fits in the browser window. A full-page capture is more appropriate when the report must include content farther down the page. For pages with lazy-loaded images or dynamic content, check the output from a test run; a capture tool may need to wait for the relevant content to appear.
Every capture or change-only alerts
Sending every image creates a consistent archive but can generate repetitive email. Change-only alerts reduce routine mail, but depend on the service’s comparison and threshold settings. Site-Shot documents threshold-based alerts and a limit of at most one change email per day; Allscreenshots documents optional change-only notification. Confirm whether the service compares the whole image or only a selected region before treating an alert as proof of a meaningful content change.

Recipients, attachments, and access
Decide whether recipients need the image or PDF attached, a link to a retained capture, or simply an alert. Check link access and expiration if reports contain non-public information. Greenhouse’s recurring-report guidance describes permission checks and possible redaction in its own reporting context; that is an example of permission-aware delivery, not evidence that screenshot services apply the same safeguards. Do not send captures broadly until you have reviewed the page content and recipient list.

Google Looker Studio documents scheduled delivery of PDF reports, including recipients, recurrence, a preview, and schedule limits. ClickUp documents emailed dashboard PDFs and recurring schedule management. Those features are appropriate when the source is a dashboard or report in that product; the cited documentation does not establish that either tool captures arbitrary live webpages as screenshots. For a live website, use a screenshot action or screenshot-specific service instead.

What to compare before committing
- Frequency and timezone: confirm the actual recurrence options and which timezone determines run time.
- Capture scope: establish viewport versus full page and whether dynamic or login-protected pages are supported.
- Delivery: check email attachment, hosted link, webhook, or cloud-storage options.
- History: find out how long captures are retained and whether older reports can be retrieved.
- Change detection: verify whether alerts are available, how thresholds work, and whether alerts must be enabled.
- Recipients and limits: review recipient controls, run quotas, and current plan terms.
Provider documentation establishes that these capabilities are offered, but does not provide a comparable independent measure of reliability, service levels, or current pricing across providers.
