Set the interval and target URL, configure any capture options the provider supports, test the file handoff, then publish the Zap. The exact action fields and delivery behavior depend on the screenshot provider.
What the Zap needs to do
A scheduled screenshot workflow has three parts:
- Trigger: Schedule by Zapier starts the Zap hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or on a supported custom interval.
- Capture: A screenshot service receives the page URL and returns an image or file.
- Delivery: A later Zap step stores, sends, or otherwise routes that result—for example, to cloud storage or a notification step.
Before building the Zap, check that the screenshot provider has a current Zapier action or an API endpoint that supports the capture method and authentication you need. Zapier integration listings show Schedule-based examples for ScreenshotOne and Urlbox. ScreenshotAPI.net says it offers a native Zapier integration and scheduled captures; these are provider and listing claims, not independent performance findings (ScreenshotAPI.net).
Set up a recurring screenshot Zap
- Create a Zap. In Zapier, start a new Zap and choose Schedule by Zapier as the trigger app.
- Choose the trigger event and interval. Select an available schedule event, then set its relevant interval and time or day fields. Zapier documents hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and custom interval patterns. The exact fields depend on the event you choose; see Zapier’s Schedule documentation.
- Check the schedule timezone. Schedule triggers use the timezone in your Zapier account settings, not a separate timezone configured on the Zap. If you change the account timezone, Zapier says to turn the Zap off and back on for that change to take effect.
- Add the screenshot action. Choose a provider’s Zapier action if it supports the capture and file-delivery flow you want. Map the page URL into the action and set supported options such as viewport or full-page capture and output format. Field names vary by provider, so use its current integration and API documentation rather than assuming all services expose identical settings.
- Route the returned file. Add a destination step, such as storage or a notification action, and map the screenshot result as that destination expects it. Check whether the screenshot action returns a file directly, a link, or another value; downstream mapping depends on that behavior.
- Test with a representative page. Use a page with the same characteristics as your real target, such as dynamically rendered content or a long page. Confirm that the capture is usable and reaches the destination before enabling the recurring workflow.
- Publish the Zap. Turn it on after checking the trigger, URL mapping, capture settings, and destination.
Schedule on particular days or dates
If the schedule event does not express the whole rule you need, start with a broader recurring trigger and narrow it with a Filter. For example, Zapier documents a first-business-day pattern that combines a daily schedule, Formatter, and Filter. The filter should allow the capture to continue only when the date or weekday conditions you set are met. See Zapier’s guide to filtering by days or times for the available setup patterns.
Choose a screenshot action and delivery path
There is no single screenshot action that is universally included in Zapier or exposes the same options across providers. Compare the current integrations and documentation on these practical points:

- Schedule compatibility: Whether the provider’s Zapier action can follow the schedule trigger you plan to use.
- Capture behavior: Whether it supports viewport or full-page screenshots, the required output format, and pages whose content renders dynamically.
- File handoff: Whether the action returns a file or link, and whether your destination step can accept it.
- Capacity and cost: Monthly capture quota, rate limits, plan price, and overage terms.
- Where scheduling lives: Decide whether Zapier or the screenshot service controls recurrence. Avoid configuring both to capture the same page on overlapping schedules.
For context, the vendors’ current public pages reviewed for this guide report the following figures. These are vendor-stated, changeable offers, not independently verified prices or performance results; check the linked pages before choosing a plan.
| Service | Published offer or schedule detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| ScreenshotNeo | Free: 1,000 shots/month with no card. Paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. | ScreenshotNeo |
| ScreenshotAPI.net | Its page says a free account includes 100 screenshots; it lists Essential at $9/month and Startup at $29/month. | ScreenshotAPI.net |
| ScreenshotOne | Its pricing page lists a 100-screenshot free trial and Basic at $17/month with 2,000 screenshots. | ScreenshotOne pricing |
| Urlbox | Schedule-based capture examples appear in its Zapier integration listing; the cited listing does not establish a comparable quota or price. | Urlbox on Zapier |
Use an API request when there is no suitable native action
If the provider exposes an endpoint that supports the screenshot method you need, Webhooks by Zapier may be an option. You will need the endpoint URL, the correct authentication and request format, and enough familiarity with HTTP requests to map the response. Zapier recommends consulting the destination API documentation; its webhook help page lists the feature on Professional, Team, and Enterprise. See Zapier’s webhook guide. Do not assume a screenshot API accepts a webhook request unless its documentation describes that method.

Timing and plan constraints
Zapier does not promise that a schedule trigger fires at the exact configured minute. Its Schedule documentation says: “Zapier does not guarantee your Zap will trigger at the precise minute you set. It should run within a few minutes of your scheduled time.” For workflows that require a precise capture time, this is an important limitation to account for.
Zapier’s plan page, updated August 13, 2026, lists schedule triggers as available on Professional, Team, and Enterprise, and unavailable on Free. Plan terms can change, so confirm availability on Zapier’s current plan-availability page.

Common problems and fixes
- The Zap does not run at the expected minute: Schedule triggers can run a few minutes later than configured. If the account timezone was changed, turn the Zap off and back on so the change takes effect.
- The schedule trigger is unavailable: The cited Zapier plan page lists it on Professional, Team, and Enterprise, not Free. Check the account’s current plan and Zapier’s plan page.
- The screenshot step cannot authenticate or reach the API: Verify the endpoint, authentication, required parameters, and request method against that provider’s current API documentation. A webhook is not a universal substitute for a native action.
- The destination receives a URL instead of an image, or no usable file: Inspect the screenshot action’s test output and map the value in the form the destination accepts. Provider actions differ in how they pass files.
- The page capture is incomplete: Check whether the selected action supports full-page capture and the target page’s rendering behavior. Test with a representative page and adjust only options the provider documents.
- Captures happen twice: Check whether recurrence is configured both in Zapier and in the screenshot service; keep one schedule as the owner of the recurring job.
- A special weekday or date rule is skipped: Review the Filter conditions and date or weekday values. Zapier’s filter guide describes patterns for restricting runs to particular days and times.
Or skip the browser setup
If you prefer a direct screenshot API request to building a Zap, ScreenshotNeo accepts a URL in one GET request and can return a screenshot or PDF. For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of the target page. Find request options and response details in the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; these steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for AI agents, including Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Can a Zap filter a daily schedule to the first business day of the month?
Yes. Zapier documents a pattern using a daily schedule, Formatter, and Filter to limit runs to the first business day.
Rank #4
Does Zapier guarantee scheduled screenshots run at an exact time?
No. Zapier says a schedule trigger should run within a few minutes of its configured time, rather than guaranteeing the precise minute.
