An approved Community Guidelines appeal does not, by itself, guarantee that YouTube has restored your channel’s live-streaming access. YouTube says a successful appeal reinstates the appealed content and removes its strike, but its live-streaming guidance sets separate eligibility requirements. Check your channel’s current status in YouTube Studio and read the appeal and restriction notices before scheduling another stream.
What an approved appeal changes—and what it does not establish
YouTube says that if it finds appealed content followed its Community Guidelines, it will reinstate the content and remove the strike. In some cases, YouTube may instead determine that the content complies with its guidelines but is not suitable for all audiences, and apply an age restriction.
The appeal guidance describes what happens to the appealed content and strike. It does not expressly promise that every successful appeal automatically restores live-streaming access or clears a separate restriction. Your channel’s current live-stream status is the practical test; do not assume that appeal approval alone means you can go live.

Check your channel’s live-stream eligibility
YouTube’s general requirements include channel verification, no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and meeting the minimum age requirement of 16. Some streaming methods may have additional requirements. These are baseline rules, not a promise that every channel meeting them will have access if another account-specific restriction remains active.

- Read YouTube’s appeal result email. Confirm whether the content was reinstated, whether the strike was removed, or whether an age restriction was applied. Do not infer the outcome from a notification that only says the appeal was reviewed.
- Review your channel status in YouTube Studio. Check the Channel violations area for the appealed decision and any other active issue. Also look for a live-stream access notice or restriction message associated with the channel.
- Check for a separate live-stream or copyright restriction. YouTube identifies policy and copyright-related reasons for disabling live streaming. A strike on an active or archived stream may also affect live-stream access. An appeal concerning one item does not necessarily resolve a different restriction.
- Confirm the general requirements. Make sure the channel is verified, you meet YouTube’s minimum age requirement, and there has not been another live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- Check the selected streaming method’s requirements. A method may have requirements beyond YouTube’s general channel eligibility rules. If Studio still shows access as disabled, follow the instructions in that notice rather than attempting to work around it.
Why live streaming can remain disabled after approval
- A separate restriction is still active. The successful appeal may concern a different piece of content or strike than the one affecting live streaming.
- The restriction is copyright-related. Live-streaming access can be restricted for copyright reasons, including issues connected to an active or archived stream.
- The content was age-restricted rather than cleared without qualification. Read the outcome notice to distinguish an age restriction from reinstatement with strike removal.
- A baseline eligibility requirement is unmet. Channel verification, age, and the 90-day restriction rule still matter independently of the appeal result.
- The access notice requires a separate action. Use the appeal or review instructions shown in the live-stream restriction notice. The appeal approval email and the access notice may relate to different decisions.
If access is still disabled
Use the restriction notice in YouTube Studio as the guide for any next appeal or review. YouTube’s appeal guidance says each strike may be appealed only once, so check whether the notice offers an available action rather than submitting repeated appeals for the same strike. The official guidance does not give a universal restoration deadline after an approved appeal; avoid relying on a fixed waiting period.
Do not switch to another YouTube channel to stream while the restriction is active. YouTube prohibits using another channel to evade a live-stream restriction and says circumvention may result in termination. Wait until the affected channel’s status indicates that live streaming is available.

Does a streaming service or equipment restore eligibility?
No. A camera, encoder, computer, or cloud streaming service cannot remove a YouTube account restriction or satisfy an account-level appeal decision.
