To capture an entire webpage in Chrome on Windows 10, including content below the visible area, use Chrome DevTools: open the page, press Ctrl+Shift+I, then Ctrl+Shift+P, search for “screenshot,” and choose Capture full size screenshot. Chrome saves the capture as an image file.

Capture the entire webpage in Chrome

  1. Open the webpage you want to capture in Chrome.
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+I to open DevTools. You can also open DevTools from Chrome’s menu if the shortcut is unavailable.
  3. Press Ctrl+Shift+P to open the DevTools Command Menu. On Windows and Linux, this is the documented shortcut. [Chrome DevTools Command Menu documentation]
  4. Type screenshot in the Command Menu.
  5. Select Capture full size screenshot. Chrome captures the whole page, including content outside the current viewport. [Chrome DevTools device mode documentation]

Chrome downloads the resulting screenshot image. The exact menu arrangement or wording can change between Chrome updates, but searching for “screenshot” in the Command Menu is the practical way to find the available capture commands.

Choose the right kind of capture

What you need Use What it captures
The whole webpage, including below the fold Chrome DevTools → Command Menu → Capture full size screenshot The full webpage rather than only the visible browser area.
A visible screen or selected region Windows Snipping Tool A full-screen or region capture of what is displayed. Microsoft documents these as screen-capture modes, distinct from Chrome’s full-page webpage capture. [Microsoft Snipping Tool instructions]
A document instead of an image Chrome print dialog → choose a suitable destination, such as Save as PDF when available A printable document. Press Ctrl+P to open the print dialog. [Google Chrome print instructions]

Ordinary screen-capture shortcuts and Snipping Tool capture what is on the screen; they are not the DevTools full-page webpage command. Choose based on whether you need a scrolling webpage image, a screen snip, or a PDF document.

If “Capture full size screenshot” does not appear

  • Make sure DevTools is open before pressing Ctrl+Shift+P; the Command Menu belongs to DevTools.
  • Search for screenshot and inspect the commands Chrome offers. The full-size command may appear in a different menu arrangement after a Chrome update.
  • Check that you are choosing Capture full size screenshot, not an option for the current viewport or a selected area.
  • If your goal is only to save a document, use Chrome’s print dialog instead of looking for a screenshot command.

Or skip the browser setup

For automated captures, ScreenshotNeo can return a webpage screenshot with one API request. Its screenshot API accepts a URL and returns PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for parameters and response details.

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and whether the request was billed. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents and other MCP clients.
