To loop one Telugu song in OBS, add it as a Media Source and enable Loop in its properties. For multiple songs, use VLC Video, add the tracks to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. Before streaming, make sure you have the rights to broadcast each recording; OBS playback settings do not provide music permission.
Loop one Telugu song with an OBS Media Source
- In OBS, select the scene where the song should play. In the Sources panel, click + and choose Media Source.
- Create a new source or select an existing one. In its properties, choose Local File and browse to the song file.
- To have the song start from the beginning when the source becomes visible, enable Restart playback when source becomes active.
- Enable Loop. It is documented as off by default, so confirm the checkbox is on before you go live.
- Click OK, then test playback and confirm the audio is reaching the stream mix.
OBS documents MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV support for Media Source. Its Loop control repeats the file after playback finishes. Restart playback when source becomes active is a separate control: it determines whether playback starts over when the source becomes visible, not whether the track repeats. OBS Media Sources documentation (dated January 11, 2022).
Loop a playlist of Telugu songs
For a collection of tracks, use VLC Video rather than creating a separate Media Source for each song.
- Install VLC. The source requires VLC, and OBS notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
- In the OBS scene, click + in Sources and select VLC Video.
- In the source properties, add the song files to the playlist in the order you want them played.
- Confirm Loop Playlist is enabled. OBS documents it as on by default. Enable Shuffle Playlist only if you want the tracks to play in a different order; it is documented as off by default.
- Test the playlist, including what happens when it reaches the end, before starting the live stream.
Use Media Source for one file and VLC Video when you need a maintained playlist or shuffle control. OBS documents the playlist settings in its Media Sources guide; VLC must be installed for VLC Video to appear as a source. See also OBS Studio overview.

Keep playback consistent when changing scenes
Playback can behave differently when its source is hidden. With Media Source, Close file when inactive unloads the file while the source is hidden or off the current scene; reopening it may introduce a delay. With VLC Video, check its Visibility Behaviour: OBS documents the default as stopping when the source is not visible and restarting when it becomes visible.
- If the song should continue uninterrupted through a scene change, test the source’s visibility and inactivity behavior in the scenes you plan to use.
- If a song should start from the beginning each time its source appears, use the activation/restart behavior deliberately and test it.
- Listen to the stream output during a private or otherwise appropriate test so you can catch silence, unexpected restarts, or transitions before the public broadcast.
These controls govern playback behavior only. They do not establish a right to broadcast a song.

Clear the rights for each recording before going live
YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content. If a match remains after a warning, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. For licensed third-party material, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. Read YouTube’s guidance on live streams and Content ID claims.
YouTube’s live-stream terms say creators represent that they have the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. YouTube also says in its Creator Music FAQ that Creator Music does not currently support licensing for live content. A license for a regular video should not be treated as clearance for a live broadcast.

Before streaming a Telugu song, confirm that permission covers the specific recording and your intended use: live broadcast, relevant territories, any archived replay, and any required Content ID allowlisting. YouTube’s music guidance identifies public-domain music and music used with rights-holder permission as safe options; a label such as “free” by itself does not prevent a Content ID claim. Which rights holder can authorize a particular Telugu recording depends on that recording and cannot be determined from the song title alone.

The song plays once and stops
Open the Media Source properties and check Loop. The documented default is off. For a playlist, check Loop Playlist in the VLC Video properties.

The song restarts when you switch scenes
Check whether the source becomes hidden during the scene change and review its activation or visibility behavior. Media Source’s Restart playback when source becomes active restarts playback on activation; VLC Video’s documented visibility behavior stops when hidden and restarts when visible by default.
There is a pause or delay after returning to a scene
For Media Source, check whether Close file when inactive is enabled. OBS says this unloads the file while inactive and may cause a delay when it reloads. Test the scene transition with the setting and playback behavior you intend to use.

VLC Video is missing from the source menu
Install VLC and check the architecture requirement: OBS notes that 64-bit OBS needs 64-bit VLC for VLC Video.
The stream is interrupted or the song is claimed
OBS loop settings cannot resolve a rights claim. Review YouTube’s notice, confirm that your permission covers live use and the recording in question, and ask the rights holder about channel allowlisting when applicable.
