You can stream a Marathi devotional playlist to YouTube from a VPS by enabling live streaming on your channel, creating an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, and configuring an encoder on the VPS to send the playlist to YouTube over RTMPS. Test the preview and stream health before broadcasting. The main prerequisites are rights to rebroadcast every recording and video, a VPS with enough sustained network capacity, and a securely handled YouTube stream key.
Before you configure the VPS
Confirm that your channel can go live
YouTube requires the channel to be verified and free of live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days; the person streaming must be at least 16. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
Clear the rights to every item in the playlist
Being devotional, traditional, or widely shared does not establish that a particular recording or video is free to rebroadcast. Rights can differ for the composition, recording, video, territory, and license. YouTube’s terms place responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for live content, including applicable music rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other participants. Review YouTube’s terms and keep permission or license records for the content you plan to use.
Check the whole playlist, not just its first track. A rights issue with one item can disrupt a stream even if the other items are cleared.

Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio

Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow.

Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. YouTube describes the key as functioning like a password and address; treat it as a secret. Do not commit it to a public script repository, put it in public logs, or share it in a public support request. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio.

Keep the Live Control Room available for the later preview and stream-health checks. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance describes the encoder workflow.
Configure the VPS encoder and ingestion
Choose RTMPS for a conventional playlist stream
For ordinary live content, YouTube recommends RTMPS, its secure RTMP ingestion option. Configure the encoder with the RTMPS endpoint and port 443 provided for the stream; do not substitute an address or key from an unrelated stream. YouTube also documents HLS ingestion for particular needs, such as HDR or codecs that RTMP does not support. HLS uses an HTTPS URL and an HLS media-playlist workflow, and generally has higher latency than RTMP-based ingestion. A local playlist that tells an encoder which media files to play is not the same thing as YouTube’s HLS ingestion protocol. See YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion guide and HLS ingestion guide.
Set output the VPS can sustain
Use an encoder and media formats compatible with YouTube’s current ingest settings. YouTube lists H.264, H.265, or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate; and a recommended two-second keyframe interval. Its encoder settings table lists 2 Mbps as the recommended video bitrate for 720p at 30 fps. That figure is a video target, not a universal VPS plan requirement: allow for audio and network overhead, and test the actual source and server connection. The recommendation is from YouTube; the source page does not state a year. Check YouTube’s encoder settings for the applicable settings and guidance.

Choose resolution and bitrate based on the playlist’s source quality and the VPS’s sustained upload capacity, rather than assuming that a plan’s advertised peak bandwidth will hold continuously. The cited YouTube guidance does not specify a minimum VPS size, provider, or guaranteed bandwidth requirement.
Connect the playlist to the encoder
Configure the VPS software encoder to read your media playlist and send a continuous audio/video feed to the RTMPS endpoint using the stream key. The precise command, playlist syntax, restart behavior, and background-service configuration depend on the media formats and operating system. YouTube’s cited guidance does not establish one universally tested FFmpeg command or VPS setup, so verify those details for your chosen software and test the exact playlist before relying on it for a scheduled broadcast.
Test, start, and monitor the broadcast

Start a controlled test, such as an unlisted stream, before the intended broadcast.

In the Live Control Room, confirm the preview contains both picture and sound. Check the stream-health feedback and verify playback on the devices relevant to your viewers.

After the test is stable, schedule or start the intended broadcast. During the stream, monitor YouTube’s health messages as well as the VPS encoder process and network connection.

What to compare if you are choosing a setup
RTMPS or HLS
For a conventional playlist stream, RTMPS is the practical starting point. Consider HLS when your encoder, codec, or HDR workflow calls for it, and account for its generally higher latency. Do not select HLS simply because your encoder reads an M3U or other media playlist.

Compare sustained upload capacity and data allowance, the server region and its route to YouTube ingestion, continuity expectations, and whether the VPS can run your encoder continuously. No particular provider, price, minimum specification, or reliability figure is established here; confirm those details with the provider and test the route you will actually use.

The channel cannot start a live stream: confirm verification, age eligibility, channel restrictions, and whether first-time activation is still pending. Allow up to 24 hours for activation.

YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: check that the stream URL, RTMPS endpoint, port 443, and stream key are the ones for the selected Live Control Room stream. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the VPS configuration.

The preview has no picture or sound: check that the playlist is readable by the encoder, that the media includes the expected tracks, and that the selected video and audio codecs are supported. Confirm both picture and sound in the preview before going public.

Stream health is poor or playback stalls: compare the configured bitrate with the VPS’s sustained upload capacity, including audio and overhead. Check the VPS network and YouTube’s health feedback; reduce output demands if the connection cannot sustain them.

A playlist item triggers a rights concern: stop and review rights for that specific composition, recording, and video in the relevant territory. A devotional theme or traditional source alone is not proof of rebroadcast permission.
