Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To start two YouTube live broadcasts at different clock times, schedule each channel’s broadcast separately in YouTube Studio. If you mean starting each continuous feed at a different point in its playlist, configure that playback position in the encoder or hosted playout service—not in YouTube’s broadcast schedule. Keep each channel’s stream and destination settings separate.
First, identify which start time you mean
- Broadcast start time: when YouTube’s live broadcast is scheduled to begin. Set a separate schedule for each channel.
- Playlist start position: which video or point in the content sequence plays when a continuous feed begins. Set this in the system producing the feed, if that system supports it.
YouTube’s Live Streaming API documents a scheduled start for a broadcast, not a playlist playback offset. Its LiveBroadcasts API reference defines scheduledStartTime as the date and time the broadcast is scheduled to start. Do not treat that field as a control for choosing a video or timestamp within an ongoing playlist.
Schedule the two YouTube broadcasts separately
- Check both channels’ eligibility. YouTube Help says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days to live stream. Check Get started with live streaming for current eligibility information.
- Set up each channel as its own destination. Create or select the live broadcast and its corresponding stream for channel one, then repeat for channel two. Google’s Understanding Broadcasts and Streams guide explains that each channel needs a different live stream resource and that broadcasts are bound to stream resources. Do not assume one channel’s stream key or resource configures the other.
- Choose each broadcast’s scheduled start. In YouTube Studio, select the schedule for the first channel’s broadcast, then set the second channel’s broadcast schedule independently. The API equivalent is the broadcast’s
snippet.scheduledStartTimefield. - Write down the intended time zone. The API value is an ISO 8601 date-time. Keep the time zone explicit in your operator notes and verify the time shown for each broadcast before relying on it. The cited documentation does not establish a separate YouTube playlist time-zone workflow.
- Confirm each channel and feed independently. Check the scheduled time, destination channel and associated stream resource for both broadcasts. A difference in schedule does not by itself change the content order in either feed.
Start each continuous feed at a different playlist position
If both broadcasts should already be running continuously and the goal is to have them play different content at a given time—or begin at different positions—configure that in the encoder or hosted playout system that supplies the video. Look for documented controls for initial item or position, playlist sequencing, and timed content blocks. YouTube’s broadcast scheduling documentation does not establish a native playlist-offset control.
For example, playout.video documents a calendar for scheduling recurring content blocks in a 24/7 stream in its calendar guide. This illustrates one vendor’s scheduling approach; it does not prove that it supports every two-channel setup or a specific initial playlist position. Confirm the exact controls for your configuration with the provider.

Hosted playout examples
External services can help when content must play unattended, but their capabilities and limits are provider-specific. OneStream Live’s 24/7 streaming guide describes adding content, choosing a YouTube channel, entering stream details, and scheduling a broadcast immediately or for later. OneStream states that its maximum 24/7 duration is 30 days; that is the vendor’s stated limit, not a YouTube-wide rule. Verify whether a provider supports the separate destinations and playlist behavior you need before relying on it.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube channel that needs to loop uploaded videos without leaving a computer running, StreamNeo runs the playout in the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a camera feed. For two channels, configure each channel as its own destination and confirm the playlist controls meet your specific start-position needs.

Troubleshoot a schedule that does not behave as expected
- The broadcast starts at the wrong time: check the scheduled time for that channel’s broadcast and compare it with your operator notes, including the intended time zone. Check the second channel’s schedule separately.
- The wrong channel receives the feed: verify the destination and stream resource for that broadcast. Each channel needs its own live stream resource; do not reuse one channel’s setup by assumption.
- The broadcast begins, but the playlist starts at the wrong item: changing
scheduledStartTimechanges the broadcast’s scheduled start, not a documented playlist offset. Check the playout system’s initial-item and playlist controls. - You cannot go live: check that the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days, as described in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
