A phone number can be used to verify no more than two YouTube channels per year. If it has already reached that limit, YouTube says to use a different number. Sharing a number does not automatically make both channels eligible to livestream: each channel must meet YouTube’s live-streaming requirements separately.
What the two-channel limit means
YouTube’s account-verification guidance says, “To help prevent abuse, a phone number can only be associated with 2 channels per year.” If the number has already been used for two channel verifications during the applicable annual period, YouTube will not accept it to verify another channel during that period. Its stated remedy is to use a different phone number. YouTube Help: Verify your YouTube account
This is a limit on phone-number associations for verification. It does not mean that sharing a number grants live access to both channels, nor does it by itself disqualify either channel. YouTube assesses each channel’s eligibility independently.
Requirements for livestreaming
General live-streaming eligibility
YouTube’s general guidance requires a verified channel, no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and that the creator be at least 16 years old. The 50-subscriber threshold applies to mobile livestreaming, not to every way of streaming. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming

Check which channel needs verification
- Open YouTube Studio for the channel you want to stream from.
- Open Settings, then Channel, then Feature eligibility. Review the channel’s feature status and complete any verification step shown there. YouTube’s verification guidance also provides the official verification flow. Verify your YouTube account
- Check the channel’s live-streaming status and any restrictions separately; phone verification alone does not clear a live restriction or satisfy other eligibility rules.
For a Brand Account, its owners and managers can verify the channel. For a channel that is not a Brand Account, only the owner can do so. YouTube Help: Verify your YouTube account
Fix verification problems
You see a maximum-number message
If YouTube says the number has been used too many times, use a different phone number. Trying again with the same number does not remove the two-channel annual limit.

The verification code does not arrive
- Try voice delivery instead of a text message, or try text if voice delivery was selected.
- If neither method works, try a number from a different carrier. YouTube notes that some carriers do not support Google messages. YouTube Help: Verify your YouTube account
The channel is verified but cannot livestream
Check the channel’s live restrictions and age eligibility. If the intended method is mobile, also check the subscriber minimum, device compatibility, and whether livestreaming has been turned on. A first mobile stream can take up to 24 hours to activate.

Eligibility and keeping a stream online are separate questions. StreamNeo is a cloud service for running uploaded videos as a continuous YouTube livestream; it does not bypass YouTube’s channel eligibility or restrictions. Its workflow is to upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud handles looping, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on.
